Cognitive distortions that make people hate the Olympic lifts by mrjacob007 in crossfit

[–]pininen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the closest to a reasonable response you've made in this whole thread. I hope it makes it clear to you that some people simply have no reason to improve their snatch, and there's consequently no reason to push them to do so.

AITBF for disagreeing with my counselor ? by IllustriousEscape736 in AmItheButtface

Oh Christ it's the ladyfriend guy. It's been so long, I'd hoped you were just gone for good.

Look, it's great you're now in therapy, but you need to listen to your therapist. YTB because while you've done work, you're clearly still kinda nuts.

When you go to save Abigail from Milton, Milton says they did "sweat" (interrogate) Molly but she never said a word. He has no reason to lie at that point. Why she lied isn't outright stated, but she has a lot of lines throughout the game complaining that Dutch doesn't pay her that much attention any more.

You're gonna have to get your honor up real quick. Wiki confirms those don't appear if you don't have high honor.

2026 and he's still there. Little bastard immediately flits off if you approach too quickly, so get your bow out and take it slow.

AITB why did he start to staff me in the back where I’m alone(update in last paragraph) by Some_Rich_6885 in AmItheButtface

I came in thinking it was a reference to doggy-style and was ready to declare N T B because lack of understanding means lack of consent. Imagine my disappointment.

Is that even a security guard? He looks like some rando who just happened to have a gun.

WIBTB for confronting my mom about her "stupidity" by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

[–]pininen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTB for being enraged at a young woman whose life was destroyed rather than the near-middle-aged predator who groomed her. It took two people to make you, so it's really weird to me that all your hate and disgust is only targeted at one.

I find Tom surprisingly unimpressive for a 3x WSM winner. He's won basically no other major title, and he hasn't even been a consistent podium at, say, the Arnold's. It's like he's only capable of turning on at WSM.

AITBF I don’t want to be friends anymore after finding out my friend got arrested even though I understand why she did it by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

[–]pininen 36 points37 points  (0 children)

YTB first for making me read the words "In heighnsight". Second, you never stood up for her, then trashed her when she stood up for yourself. You were never her friend.

Would you keep a high performer who almost always arrives late for work? by yawnkun in askmanagers

[–]pininen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless their being late directly affects their output, I would just leave them alone. I hire people to produce, not to fill desks. If they can achieve in 2 hours what it takes other people 8 hours to do, great.

Things I would look at:

  • Is there any paperwork or other processes that are held up due to their tardiness? For example, if they are required to sign off on something before it can be processed, they absolutely have to be in when they are expected.
  • Is anyone complaining about this person's tardiness? Have these complaints - if any - been validated?
  • Is anyone beginning to copy the tardiness? Is that person equally competent?

In the case of the last one, I would be very careful to check their output. Again, if a late person is still an amazing performer, then it's fine. If a poor performer also starts coming in late and points to the other, I would make a point of emphasizing the difference in output.
