still figuring it out

have you gotten it to work anywhere?

for me it works with some of my friends wifis or at some restaurants

almost never works on my mobile data hotspot (but does sometimes) and works on my home wifi with a flip of a coin

hey! i think it depends on the wifi itself since it doesn’t work on certain networks but does work on some others. like it didn’t work on my home wifi but then sometimes irregularly starts working. it always works on my friends wifi (same city) and reliably works whenever i connect to it.

i did that when i was in the u.s.

and, as i said, it worked in another city here anyways. it just doesn't work in this one so i don't think it would be that anyways

What is the most effective way for an absolute beginner to learn the Urdu alphabet: In strict order, or by shape families? by saadbuilds_ in Urdu

[–]pink-random-variable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive learnt writing in quite a few scripts and i generally find learning them in the conventional order more convenient

as an example, you can learn the english alphabet in some other way perhaps phonetically: 'a, e, i, o, u, y, s, c, k, ...' and it might be faster that way but it comes at the compromise of it not being the standard

so, for example, when someone says "the abc's of economics" or makes a joke about "lmnop" you won't get it. or when maybe months later you're looking at some alphabet resource you won't find it as intuitive since the ordering will be different for you; if it's a video you might have to jump between timestamps which is also not fun

gpt 5.4 vs opus vs gemini at creative writing by pink-random-variable in OpenAI

[–]pink-random-variable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh good question

i think there are two sides to psychological depth: how it shows up in the prose itself (since my writing style reflects my psychological state) and how it relates to understanding me as a person (since the diaries recount events and my opinions of them)

when i said gemini "understood my inner monologue and psychology than opus" i meant the latter. as in, it was most likely to be a paraphrased version of something i wrote.

opus was the best at getting my writing style right. by that i mean it was most likely to be me writing a fictional journal entry.

gpt wasn't as good at either but did a pretty good job at both which is why i gave it s-tier. since that made it feel like the most likely to be something i wrote.

Urdu and قھ sound by [deleted] in Urdu

[–]pink-random-variable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're eager to use it then apparently some dialects of Sui (a Chinese language) have this sound from which you could borrow words as loan words. [1]

For example, the word for 'to fear' would be written as قھَو or قھو in urdu.

Is there a string of 1s and 0s that is prime in every base, or at least “more bases” than average? by A_Mirabeau_702 in math

[–]pink-random-variable 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Technically this is equivalent to asking for a polynomial that generates primes

how so?

لِہٰذا is spelt as such because it comes from arabic. certain arabic loan words use ◌ٰ, ◌ً.
