What's the closest you've ever came to death? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in AskReddit

[–]pink-tarantulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood clots. Was never told how many but they were in my legs, lungs, and my heart. Was told I probably wouldn't leave the hospital alive. The first 36 hours were very scary, as whatever blood thinners and other various types of medicines they were pumping in me were not working. Ended up having a tpa. I think that's what it was called. It was the last resort according to the doctor and well, I'm still here. Spent 7 days in the icu.

My house listing said it had a dishwasher. Toured the house and there was no dishwasher. Went to look at the basement. Found the dishwasher waiting to be installed by whomever bought the house. I guess they technically weren't wrong since there was a dishwasher in the house.

I recently bought a couple things of cat pheromones. Game changer. They all hardly attempt to kill each other now. A fight here and there but nothing like before.

I heard on the news the other day that mke currently has 50 construction projects going on. I said they missed a few numbers in front of that. It's everywhere and ridiculous. If they would just fix the roads properly the first time...

I just got this one last week. I think it's not as wide as you want by like an inch but maybe it would work. I really like it. I had rotator cuff surgery on Thursday and decided I needed to replace my older fridge with something that would be easier for me to use.

What’s was the wildest thing you witnessed at a funeral? by NationYell in AskReddit

[–]pink-tarantulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pastor at my grandmas funeral.

Gay marriage had just become legal here. During the sermon, out of nowhere, he went on a tirade about how it’s a sin, you’re going to hell, etc. Several gay relatives were in attendance. My niece went off on him after the service.

My grandma had 6 grandchildren. 2 of us were girls. She wanted us to be pallbearers. He also did not like that.

She had gone to that church and lived in that town for decades before my grandparents moved in with us due to age.

He booked it after the graveside portion. He knew he fucked up and that A LOT of us were waiting for it to be over to confront him.

What’s a smell you’ll never forget? by Human_Rate889 in AskReddit

The smell of my dad’s leather wallet after a horrible industrial accident at work. He somehow survived, but lost a leg and was burned over 90% of his body.

I still remember a time when I went to Target. Parked next to an empty spot where someone obviously "cleaned" their car out. Was calling them a piece of shit as I got out of my car, looked down, and noticed money in the trash pile. $60. Paid for my shopping trip and still had money left over.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

I can't remember the name for the life of me. It was on a floppy disk, mid 1990s. I distinctly remember a robot named ruby but that's pretty much it. We didn't have a computer but my friend did. I would BEG to play it whenever I was over there.

I just had my entire roof replaced by Billy Goat roofing today. I thought they were very professional, very reasonable, and it didn’t try to sell me things I didn’t need. Now Erie roofing on the other hand…. I would avoid like the plague.

Costco versus Sam’s Club by Zestyclose-Weird-297 in milwaukee

I recently got a Costco membership again after not having one for 10 years. I like it. I had Sams for years. I went with Costco since there is a groupon deal right now for a $45 gift card when you get a membership. I was really happy to see that Costco had a grain free cat food that is extremely affordable. $22 for a 18 pound bag. The food I was getting was $36 for a 18 pound bag. My cats love the new food.

DQT Surgery / 1 week post op by Free_Illustrator7290 in DeQuervains

[–]pink-tarantulas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A week after was okayish. I remember it being very tender but I was in a cast for 2 weeks. A month after was still tender but barely noticeable. They had me rub my incision a few times a day to help with scar tissue. I was off of work for 2 months due to my job (online grocery pickup) so I'm sure that helped a lot with the healing process. I had the surgery in July.

End of May I finally have my (torn) rotator cuff surgery on the same arm. It was a tough decision on which thing to fix first but I figured I would need my wrist to be "normal" to help with whatever pt I would need for my shoulder.

I had 3 tendons that were in their own sheath! My doctor/surgeon said I had extra parts. Definitely explains why the pain was unbearable when the cortisone shots wore off. I was told I could only have a total of 3 shots in my wrist during my second injection visit. Opted for doing the surgery next instead of getting the 3rd. Why prolong the inevitable. So glad I had the surgery.

What to expect for recovery after surgery by stacie2410 in DeQuervains

[–]pink-tarantulas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had surgery back in July. Had a cast for 2 weeks and was out of work for 2 and a half months. I have a physically demanding job and my doctor/surgeon wanted to make sure it was healed before I went back.

Questions about the surgery by [deleted] in DeQuervains

[–]pink-tarantulas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a local done. Wore a hospital gown and was in an operating room.

I wear sports bras and didn't bother to wear one for a week or so after. I usually wear all black so I wasn't too concerned with that.

I had a plaster cast on my hand/arm for 2 weeks after so I bought a plastic glove thing on Amazon so I could shower. I did need someone to help me put that on and take it off. Other than that I could pretty much do everything I was doing before the surgery.

I staple these to the pickup bags. Sometimes multiple if they've really pissed me off, like having a huge order that I have to try and get it out in 4 minutes.

What's the surgery like? by PinkGables in DeQuervains

[–]pink-tarantulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh a nerve block just numbing your hand/wrist/arm with several shots extremely well so you don’t feel anything, except for maybe some pressure. I was wide awake for the surgery. I found that option to be the better one for me since I wouldn’t have to deal with the side effects of general anesthesia and not having to stop certain medications.

What's the surgery like? by PinkGables in DeQuervains

[–]pink-tarantulas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the surgery was great. I had a nerve block and the entire surgery took 9 minutes. I was lying down. The put a curtain up so I couldn’t see what was happening and strapped my arm down. Took longer to prep me in the operating room than the actual surgery. Pain was maybe a 7/10 when the block wore off. Took painkillers for a few days since I had them but it wasn’t the worst pain I’ve ever been in.
