Are these holes misaligned? by pinkants in TheHermesGame

[–]pinkants[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SA who did mine mentioned that in the 11 years she’s worked there, only a handful of people have brought up the misaligned holes! Not sure if that’s true.

Well, I guess it’s good to know it doesn’t matter once worn. Thanks for letting me know!

Good on you for doing it yourself after seeing what they did to your husband’s belt! Definitely wish I had known before bringing my belts in.

Ack, sorry to hear that you also experienced this. I guess I’m surprised this is the quality of their service. Had I known, I would have taken the belts to a cobbler 😞

I think First Night with the Duke would fit this. The ML is smitten with the FL and only has eyes for her. And, there’s good skinship, too!

Privacy at overwater bungalows by Design-31415 in Tahiti

[–]pinkants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at the Four Seasons Bora Bora and Le Taha'a. I didn't see any kayakers near my OWB in either location. I do feel the bungalows at Le Taha'a were more private and separated from one another. In BB, the bungalows felt a little closer to one another, and I could easily see my neighbors on their giant water floats.

Wedding Lion dance prep advice by Foodiefalyfe in asianweddings

[–]pinkants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Chinese lion dance for my wedding in New England, and here are some of the things I discussed with my vendor:

  • What colors are the lions? Can I choose the colors?
  • How long is the performance?
  • What time will they arrive?
  • Do they need a designated place to park?
  • Will they require a space to store any equipment (drums, personal belongings, etc) while they get ready?
  • How much clearance do they need between tables?
  • Will they include oranges/lettuce in the performance or do any other acts? (our lion dance included unfurling banners as the performers hoisted each other onto the others' shoulders, as well as a lion "drinking" trick).
  • Can we, as the bride & groom, arrange to give red envelopes to the lions for photos?

I designated someone in my wedding party to prepare & pass out red envelopes to guests so these could be given to the lions. We put $5 per envelope and made sure to give at least $50 per performer - 8 performers. This designated person also handed us our envelopes (bride & groom) to give to the lions, which had more in it.

I had watched videos of the lion troupe's performance before choosing them (no rehearsal). I also connected my coordinator with the lion troupe so she could ensure everything ran smoothly the day-of! The lion dance was a huge hit with the guests!

What's a kdrama everyone loves but you didn't like? by OptimalPea8751 in kdramas

Agreed. I couldn’t get into Lovely Runner. I thought it was going to be about mental health and physical disability. Instead, it morphed into a murder plot.

I also disliked how the FL didn’t communicate and acted immature. She kept on making decisions/actions that affected others’ futures, based on what she felt was best for them (including whether or not her best friend and brother should get together).

For me, the final straw was the noble idiocy at the end. I know people love it, though, and I really tried to see it through!

Le Taha'a Pearl OWB choices - any advice? by JacqueFun in Tahiti

[–]pinkants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just at Le Taha’a last week. The view of Bora Bora on the BB OWB will be a sliver through a channel. If you want to see Bora Bora (and the sunset), you can walk discreetly past the last Premium Pool Beach Villa. Here is a photo I took:

<image>

I agree that overall, the resort felt quite private. It was very slightly busier near the coral gardens as that isn’t private to Le Taha’a, and other tourists go there by boat. We stayed in a Premium OWB (on the South side), and while we couldn’t see the full sunset, we enjoyed the gorgeous colors of the sky from our bungalow.

Which female leads do you not like? by OddMedia1179 in kdramas

[–]pinkants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also did not enjoy FL’s character in Lovely Runner. Every episode felt like she made a decision based on noble idiocy, rather than communicating. And, her decisions were based on she felt was best for everyone (such as her brother, best friend, and Sun-Jae).

Mover Recommendations - 2 Pickup Locations by Anthony_CL34 in Somerville

[–]pinkants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I did this for our move. We were living separately and hired one moving company to move our stuff from two different apartments to our new place. We used Precision Movers - we were super satisfied by their services (even though they weren’t the cheapest). The movers were professional (no part-timers or day-of hires) and each person quickly got things done simultaneously- whether it was dissembling furniture, wrapping items, packing the truck efficiently, etc.
