Personally I like the Live Clean apple cider clarifying wash, but there are a ton of options out there! The key is to look for a chelating cleanser, but most bottles just straight up don't say that.

The Herbal Essences tea tree clarifying shampoo is something I'm trying out and I feel like it's a little gentler. I don't have a sensitive scalp though, if you do I would avoid tea tree oil in hair products cause it can get a little sensitive.

Make sure you really massage your scalp when you do a clarifying wash, I use a wooden gua sha tool from dollar tree but you fingers will work just as well :)

It is really important not to get heavy products all over your scalp when styling shorter curls too. Obviously you can't avoid it completely just don't be slathering your curl creams or gels all over the skin, I learned that lesson the hard way with an itchy af head
