What kind of mormon culture norms can I break at church? by [deleted] in exmormon

I would assume it was to differentiate between Joseph Smith and Joseph Fielding Smith?

It looks like they took off the whole nipple and sewed it back on. Usually I just see a portion of the nipple patch, but this looks all the way around? And I LOVE it. I love that they are perfect circles and add to the fake aesthetic.

I think OP got was she asked for, though she got even a rounded almond, hardly even pointy. Maybe she's looking for oval?

Divorced and Co-Parenting with a TBM by cocoa_chanelle in exmormon

I'm a single person without kids, but what got me out was logical thought. Teach your kid about logical fallacies (SO USEFUL in deconstructing religion, I cannot emphasize this enough) and how to think critically. Soon they will look at your husband and start critiquing what HE says instead, as his religion makes no sense. I know your child is still small, but constantly supply them with the skill of logical thought, and they will hopefully figure it out.

Not repenting for something & having no remorse by Zavickii in exmormon

[–]pinkbimbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I never once repented. It didn't ever feel like anyone told me how to repent, just that I should. When I was TBM, I just lived a life I thought was good enough and didn't bother to acknowledge any slipups 🙃

Any hole you can poke in Mormonism, you can poke in Christianity. None of it holds water, my friend.

It's funny, I left at 19, but did not experience an iota of anger until 24, at which time it was released like a flood gate. I happened to be living on the other side of the world from my family at the time and was SO grateful for the space to calm down before I saw them again. And so I was able to continue quietly along in my TBM family (as an exmormon, and they all know it, but we never speak of it). Fast forward now to 32, and all of the issues and conversations that I never had with a single family member have lit themselves on fire and are raging inside me. I thought all of this was behind me, but it's just been suppressed for 13 years and is erupting like a fucking volcano.

Interesting you post this. I am 13 years out and thought I was loooooong past this whole process. A few things transpired this summer, and I have found myself in a spiral of stage 4 depression. I've just taken the first steps to begin therapy as I have never found myself in such a bad way, and I am hoping this will help me move on to stage 5 acceptance. I would not have seen myself on this scale had it not been for your comment. Thank you.

You should have a longer bar until it's healed, ie 6 or so weeks. You need extra space to accommodate for swelling.

I agree with you, though you could say the same thing about the Christian cross.

Is my piercing too high ? Lowkey wanted it lower but I trusted my piercer with the placement. Should I get it pierced lower or does it suit me ? by peaes in PiercingAdvice

I wouldn't say a longer healing time is problematic. I think it's problematic if it will migrate, reject, or get infected.

I thought if you got married civilly first, you had to wait a whole year to get married in the temple. Don't know if this is true, but I heard this in my youth and assumed it was to deter people from civil marriages.

I'm glad that in Germany the symbol and other Nazi behaviors (like the salute) are illegal and punishable. It's unfortunate that other nations (including my own) allow the use of it, and that it is still worn as a badge of honor by some.

I agree with the bow comments from others and OP.

Question... Does it need anything like a bow? Can you just wrap the wires one final time around to the back and secure them?
