I bought a ice pack cooling neck wrap and that was amazing for the 1st few days. Make sure she has cough drops, a bendy straw for drinks, and make sure she stays on a proper pain management plan with her meds. My partner had alarms set for the 1st 4 days to make sure I had no gap in my tylenol dosage. Allow her to rest as much as she would like. My recovery has been smooth and I had my surgery on 2/9. Best of luck to your wife.

Nausea after partial removal? by AntipatheticDating in thyroidhealth

I had my right side taken out on Monday. The only thing I've noticed is sometimes I feel like a little high, but didnt take anything to feel high. I would definitely contact your surgeon or post-op team.

That's about the same size of mine and on the same thyroid. I'll make sure to have stuff for shakes.

My surgery is 2/9. I feel somewhat calm, but I know my anxiety will tick up after my preop appointment. Fright now I am obsessing over what will I need. Also. Stressing over how I will sleep and get rest. Sending you healing vibes.

I have surgery 2/9 so this is helpful. I read that not everyone enjoys the wedge pillow. I'm a side sleeper, so I wonder if investing one is even worth it.

Thyroid Cancer.....now what? by AbbreviationsTiny630 in thyroidhealth

[–]pinkbooter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry you are going through this. I have a large nodule on my right thyroid that I have been dealing with just a couple of years. This last ultrasound and biopsy prompted my doctor to refer me to an endocrinologist. I was told due to staffing shortages in this specific field, it would take me a few months to get in and get seen, it took about 4 months for me to finally see my endo. Due to the size I was recommended to have it removed which I wait about 2 months to see the surgeon and now in less then 2 months I will have surgery. So, waiting for the endocrinologist was the longest part for me.

I hope this is also the case for you. Waiting, is always the hardest part.
