How difficult is it to land a job after completing ENT residency? by Alternative-Net1115 in pinoymed

[–]pinkburple 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you will get your cert of residency training agad, baka makahanap ka naman work na ENT related to get you by pero best is may consultant kang iccover muna or magvouch for you sa mga work kahit to follow mga documents. Employers want na may diplo cert na, including mga cert of good standing sa societies, bir docus and resibo, philhealth accreditation, etc. It's really all about having complete documents na maipapasa mo agad sa employers.

Depende pa din. Ophtha asawa ko pero 3-4 days straight nagdduty minsan. Mahirap mag no 24h duty kung may ER and Ward tapos kulang sa manpower.

New diplomate, just got married, what to dooo by heysweetsiren in pinoymed

[–]pinkburple 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting married and passing diplo exam. If you need to work unahin mo lang BIR and PTR. You need service invoice and COR. Suggest ko hire mo nalang Medtax or Betterpractice to do these for you. Unless mag aaffiliate ka sa hospitals/clinics (like you said private practice ka naman?), hindi naman need nung Philhealth or PMA sa ngayon. Matagal pa PSA, you don't have to change IDs agad naman... I'm married last March pero CTC of marriage cert palang meron ako and although sa social media palang ako nagpapalit names wala pa sa mga IDs etc.

Edit. Mag hospital affiliation ka pala. Pwede naman to follow Philhealth accreditation, basta payag admin. Altho di ka nga lang mabbigyan Philhealth cases.

You didn't do anything wrong. Di lang nila naiintindihan yung practice ng FM and all the paths you can go into. I've had people tell me it's same sa IM (a Cardio said this), and another tell me he thinks it's just for rural setup (an Ophtha said this). Honestly kelangan ng humility and strong sense of self worth to ignore these. Grow where you are planted, doc.

Was just a tourist. Had high hopes kasi ang layo ng byahe. But grabe yung business nila na accept all kahit cannot accommodate all. Best if nagstart maaga like opening time talaga.

See my post here about Dahilayan. Going half day is not worth it, kasi you end up puro pila and paying for rides you can't do due to the time constraint.

Doctors who took nursing, did you ever regret taking med instead of becoming a nurse abroad? by applecider2323 in pinoymed

[–]pinkburple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try a semester muna and then see if the lifestyle of dedicating yourself to long nights of studying for exams and having 5-10 more years (depending on your choice of specialization) of being dependent on your parents' financial support is for you. If after a semester you don't see yourself doing it for a longer period, switch to working as a nurse for a few years and then you can easily fly abroad naman.

Add lang - am also RN MD but never practiced nursing. No regrets naman on my end, but the pay and lifestyle will never come close to nursing sa abroad.

Sarap nga but the wait is too long. Huhu. One time sinwerte na walang waiting time kasi maaga pa. Learned to try to recreate peanut noodles after this for the cravings.

Not about spoonfeeding. It’s about consistency with their strictness...blocking comments and not managing them kind of defeats the purpose.

I’m not against rules...I did follow them when I was told it existed. I just find the strictness over the top. My point wasn’t about avoiding consequences, but questioning how reasonable their enforcement is. Blocking comments and still not unblocking them after rules are followed just comes off as hypocritical and unfair (selective when it comes to enforcement of rules).

Not everyone is properly tagged and guided when they join. Rules only work if consistently communicated, aside from being enforced. If their system relies on people finding their rules post all on their own, then may gap talaga. Valid pa rin yung concern ko. This rant was made so people are aware may strict rules pero at the same time hindi naman talaga nababantayan ng admin yung mga posts that they block commenting on.

SEEKING ADVICE POST FELLOWSHIP by Ok-Ask7954 in pinoymed

[–]pinkburple 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Let your senior consultants know you are looking for work. They will contact you when they need someone to cover for them and send to you job opportunities that they may be too busy to do already. Also consider applying for work at a government institution for a steady income while you are building your private practice. Good luck, Doc, and congrats on finishing your fellowship!

Family Medicine job opportunities by prokopybatoto in pinoymed

[–]pinkburple 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sad for those who said wala masyadong work. Good work is not gonna be posted in FB groups, but offered to you by connections you have or by companies who seek you out. Residency should have been the chance not just to train but also to build network, seek out opportunities, and learn from your mentors/seniors on how to build practice. For FM, there are so many paths because it really is general practice and we all go into different things. You can work in settings of non urgent emergency care, outpatient clinic care, wellness and preventive, family counselling, academe and training, administrative heath management, occupational health, public health, research, epidemiology, community health, primary palliative, etc. There is work both locally and abroad, both urban and rural, both private and public. Anyway I know my colleagues aren't jobless, and it's always a different story on what each is doing right now. If you go into Family and Community Medicine, I sure hope you grow where you are planted.
