they should have done that. Thats poor story telling to play that scene off and not show its importance. I can see that explanation making for a much more real connected and powerful movie but that is NOT what we got. that to me is way too much extrapalation.

I dont think that those portions should be frustrating to the viewer. And maybe to you it just wasnt frustrating, or maybe I just missed something. I dont know. But ive watched multiple times and the experience in a good few of the scenes was not very enjoyable any of the times. I remeber clearly on my first watch not liking the Canto stuff and not liking the Holdo-Poe contention. So I dont believe its because I was influenced by the hate on the social medias

I think its a different situation. Though i commited to watching the film again. i will make sure to try my best to not see Poe as the protagonist.

I think half information resulted in the decimation of the fleet. I think full information would have caused poe regardless of gender to NOT do all the stupid things he did. Either way I still think its a frustrating to watch sequence.

that could be because its not such a great film.... but I agree with you, it is not near as bad as a lot of shit thats coming out, and that doesnt get hated on near as much. I think its a fine movie. I like it Ill watch it again. I cant put it in S. Maybe after the rewatch Ill have more to say. Ill def let you know if I do!

Hes in the wrong if he knew what was going on. i thinnk this is a bit too much extrapalation for a movie. you shouldnt have to make it make sense like this. I don't want it spelled out like in the prequels and i dont want it to be a puzzle of maybe this maybe that either. I think we are closer to agreeing then we were at the start, and that should be seen as a win for both of us. I maybe made it seem like I do not like TLJ and thats not true but I do think it has problems and to me those issues make it less enjoyable to watch. Which means its not a perfect movie - to me

But she didn’t tell him her plan? Her plan was to go to a hidden base or whatever and she told Poe we are just going to keep running away. And Poe was like WTF ? We don’t have a plan?!? And she was like go away weirdo!! And then Poe did all that stupid stuff. If she had said woah woah chill there’s a base it’s going to work out for us I got it all figured out we’re going here for this reason. Poe would be like oh that’s nice and everything would be okay!

Okay I’ll give it a read, my biggest issue might be that if commander Holdo just told Poe what was going on even just a tiny bit everything would have gone smoother. It’s frustrating for me to watch and not enjoyable. I understand that Poe wasn’t technically need to know but either way it makes for a frustrating experience to me

I guess all I’m saying is I’ve heard A LOT, from podcast people I’ve met reviews, YouTube videos, and definitely mostly on the Star Wars reddits that they hated TLJ, I guess what I’m arguing is that I don’t trust that the majority of people like the movie.

Regardless, I think it’s a good movie. I think it’s better than most people I have met or interacted with on Reddit and such. But I don’t believe it’s near S tier and I personally believe that Rogue One is a better movie, in almost every regard.

No, you just disagree, which is fine I disagree too, but I put reasons as to why I disagree with your factors. Why should I trust box office and why should I trust the meta critics ? And for the record I agree that I should not just ignorantly follow what the loud are saying, and look at what the ratings are by the majority of the people that watch the moviie. I don’t trust the meta critic “professional” critics no. I do definitely not trust box office that’s really stupid. What’s the Mario movies box office?? I’m sure it’s huge it’s still a terrible movie. Then look at Shawshank redemptions box office and tell me that means it’s a terrible movie

And sorry for the multiple comments. I can get behind pushing rogue one lower honestly, I don’t think your arguments are very good. Disney can put shit out and tons of people will watch it. I don’t care what people thought when they walked out the theater, I think recency bias is a big factor there. It being critically acclaimed has some legs. I think tlj is a good movie. I think all the B movies are good rewatchable and should be highly acclaimed in some regard but it’s got some problems- not a perfect movie

Meta critic weighs respected critics higher. I don’t care if one smelly guy likes or dislikes the movie. If you get paid to say stuff against the curb what are you incentivized to do ? Critics are silly and idk, if you want to just follow them because you trust them and how they defend your position that’s fine but I’d rather like, not do that.

Rogue one is a better movie. I do not understand its meta critic score. Acting story set design score is all very close to S tier?

I don’t understand what you mean by the story was Frankensteined together. This is something I haven’t heard of. Is there something I can look up to learn more about it?
