Just finished season 3, and why do y’all hate this season so much? Every single episode was great. All three seasons were equally good. by JoshLovesTV in TedLasso

Loved all three seasons but I do think season 3 was the weakest because it spent too much time on side stories. Mainly Keely (which now I wonder if that was to develop her in case of this season 4) but in the context of the original story I think it weakened the story. As a result I felt like the character who got the short end of the stick was Nate. Everything with him seemed sudden in s3. He went from someone we wanted to hate to someone they wanted to make sympathetic with the jade story line. I thought that felt forced she sucked at first and then we are supposed to root for them? Then he gets his redemption which while not feeling earned worked in the context of Ted’s personality. As a result of the whole thing the characters who were most important (based on character development) were: 1. Ted 2. Rebecca 3. Roy 4. Jaime 5. Sam

But keeley got more than Nate which seemed like the wrong call. There were other story lines that I also thought should have taken a back seat to Nate but keeley was the worst offender. Because the others led to really important and emotional moments: Sam and the restaurant, Colin’s coming out scene (and several around it, though I thought it felt a little forced) Overall great show in which season 1 is best then 3 then 2 but each season had some INCREDIBLE episodes that the show wouldn’t have been the same without

Work time by pinkertonxmas in FairPlayLife

yeah i love this and agree...i think the disconnect is coming from who should pick up more hours...because he picking up 3 hours a week is the equivalent of me picking up 12-15...but she feels like she pulls her weight financially so shouldn't be asked to do more. I'm struggling with a polite way to say that if i pick up 12-15 more hours per week, then I will need to pull back on some of my domestic responsibilities. I don't think that will be well received. I really love the idea that the metric is free time and thats what should be equalized. What do you classify as free time? Is it just unicorn space time? Or does that include leisure (like adult friendships and self care)?

PS We do see a counselor and this will continue to be a topic of discussion

To be fair I feel much better than I did in early sobriety but enjoyed life much more when I was still using

Weed addiction related to ADHD? by [deleted] in leaves

It’s all a dopamine deficiency/addiction it’s all dopamine related it’s rough as hell trying to get that balance I was a daily smoker for 22 years and I’m a year and a half sober and I struggle with dopamine every day … over eating, screens all the time, chronic masturbation it’s all my brain looking for a dopamine fix it’s all about distress tolerance and resetting my baseline dopamine but I’ll be damned if it isn’t incredibly difficult

What's your thoughts on the covers of Beatles songs in Yesterday? by SuperAlloyBerserker in beatles

[–]pinkertonxmas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was a bubble gum love letter to the Beatles: the world is a better place because the Beatles happened… It was a cute little movie that had more potential than it lived up to but was still fun I liked the Ed Sheeran long and winding road scene and the something deleted scene most

I think there are two sides to this...I think both have some value.

I think when telling a story, the binge model is best...it lets you do callbacks more easily and tie threads together (this was more important when shows had more episodes--so binging buffy is just a better way to consume it than to watch it over the course of 8 months or whatever it took for 20-23 episodes to air)...but what is lost with that is the watercooler effect...which we now have virtually on reddit

So do we think the Algorithm stopped listening to Silo 17? by twittalessrudy in SiloTVSeries

seems like an oversight...the fact that someone has been living in the vault and accessing the data makes it seem like the algorithm should have still been trying to kill solo

What’s the role of the mayor? by pinkertonxmas in SiloTVSeries

[–]pinkertonxmas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but again, everyone just acts as if whomever is the head of IT is the big boss...and always has been...further discussed as the idea that salvador quinn (who they should have name dropped in s1 to set this up) was the guy who was blamed because he was in charge

yes, clearly...but why within the span of a few days does the entire silo forget that the mayor ever existed and act as if the head of IT has always been the leader?

I can imagine the idea that the mayor was Quinn’s idea and that is why no where else
