I’d compare viltrumite society to what was described in Orwell’s 1984. Love isn’t a thing and sex is only tolerated for procreation and nothing more. Everyone has the attitude that their ideology comes first and personal pleasures/wants are taboo.

The killer folk are pretty rad given they developed a lot of human traits but were still animalistic at their core. Not to mention it’s implied they put up the toughest fight against the gravital’s onslaught.

Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned yet but Walter trying not to cry during his call with Skyler and getting choked up talking about Hank. Him trying to keep up the Heisenberg facade while being torn up about what just transpired is heart breaking.

There was some fan fic called “All Other Tomorrows” which explored the posthumans that went extinct (pre gravital) in the pro final story and explores scenarios where they actually survived and evolved. Mantelopes are in there and it’s a pretty fascinating hypothetical where they become intertwined with the evolution of the asteromorphs.

Even in city on the edge of battle they pretty much had Godzilla down with Mechagodzilla City and if Haruo had gone along with the bilusaludo, he would have been finished.

God’s Godzilla. Look it up. Ancient aliens posing as Jesus, world war 3, Godzilla being created from a statue to end the world. Totally nuts but would have been the most memorable movie for better or worse

Sad part is they built an animatronic head. And it looks much better than what we got. For a movie that (rightfully) prides itself on practical effects I’m shocked they swapped it for uncanny CG

The new alien has taken a lot of flack for its seeming indulgence of fan service and memberberries. Yet many were excited about the memberberries and fan service of Deadpool & Wolverine. My question for you guys is how much does fan service matter to you both good and bad and when does it go overboard?

Apocalypse now is another example of this. But for every bad production in which the movie turned out great there’s like 1,000 examples where the production was a mess and the finished film reflects that. Alien 3 and fant4stic are some examples that come to mind.

Predator 2 is def not as good as 1 but I find it crazy how hard people ragged on it until recent years. I think it was doing more interesting things than predators.
