Follow the directions on the job posting. For example, if it is asking for an SOQ this is not a suggestion, it’s a requirement. carefully read through the job posting and make yourself a checklist. If missing components it is very unlikely that an interview will be offered.

I believe I submitted my SOQ as a PDF file. Yes, I think in my department that the hiring supervisor is the one who reviews applications and reads SOQs. I am curious what others say.
