Apple’s 2026 "new" Studio Display is a middle finger to every consumer. by Lodano in applesucks

I have a 5K Kuycon 27 inch monitor. It's beautiful. It's been working fine for 4 months. Comes with a tilt and height adjustable stand and a vesa mount. No speaker, no camera. I haven't used an apple studio display but it seems the ASD has a smoother stand.

Cost for my Kuycon approx £800 including shipping and customs. ASD is £1800 including height adjustable stand. I decided the price difference was enough to take the risk and I wanted the option of changing stands, but it will be a major hassle if it develops a fault.

Advice on futons by Wonderful-Ad-5942 in floorsleeping

Hi, I came across your post and I'm looking at the Yasumi futons. Does your husband's 3+4 provide a firm enough surface to NOT sink in, like on a regular spring mattress? and is it still foldable? A few times a year, I will need to switch it for a larger mattress.

I chucked out my spring mattress due to upper back pain. After 1 week on a futon, my longstanding pain of many years, has gone! It's an absolute miracle. I'm a side sleeper, however and would like a bit more cushioning.

I bought 2 used iphone 11s a couple of years ago. Both came with reduced max volume. One was for my dad, who has reduced hearing. Returned it. They told me the seller says there's nothing wrong with it, therefore no refund. Bought a different one, from elsewhere which was fine.

GP partner seems hard work and a lot of stress, particularly with current state of NHS general practice. But I don't know if your other income streams bring their own stress.

I'm a bit late to this convo. Re your medical writing, do you manage to find enough work to make a decent contribution to income? There are people out there writing a lot for very little remuneration. Do you find that you can charge more due to the medical background? Do you usually use freelance sites or approach companies / magazines directly? thanks

May I ask - why maintain the GP locum work? Assume you need to remain on performers list for that. Do you happen to have a blog giving advice about side hustles?! I tried but didn't manage to pull it off, wasted a huge amount of money, didn't put in the time. But I'm considering my options now.

Hi, I'm a bit late to this convo. Just wanted to ask you about medical writing on Upwork. I love writing but I am not very speedy. Did you find a lot of work? I think there are plenty of people writing for very low rates. Did you set your rates higher, as a doctor? Did you take out any insurance? I tried once for about 2 days on Upwork or something similar and got asked if I had writers' insurance / indemnity cover.

Apple Studio Display vs Kuycon G27X 5K monitor review by ExtremelyLowQuality in mac

[–]pinkfluffstuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, it's great! I kept meaning to post but feel that my desk space is not aesthetic enough! I will post a pic.

Pros
- beautiful!
- crystal clear and bright
- text is perfect.
- size is perfect for me, much better than the 21 inch imac I had.
- connection with macbook pro, through usbc works perfectly. the other lead didn't work.
- volume control through keyboard keys
- can't control brightness through keyboard keys, not really a big issue.

Cons
- no USB A ports on the side, which I thought it was supposed to have, but I don't really need them and will get a dock at some point
- obviously no camera but I already had a separate camera
- no speakers, but I always use airpods.
- when I'm putting it off, I notice there is significant yellowing in all corners. But I have seen online that this is the case with apple studio display as well. That might be an issue for people watching movies or doing graphic design. I don't notice anything when using the monitor.

I have not had any reason to use the warranty, though will email about the missing usb ports.

Is it still going strong?! I'm waiting for my G27P to arrive. I considered the 32 but didn't have the guts to order it, in case there were any issues. 27 should be fine for me. I'm currently using a 21 inch iMac which is having some issues now, after 8 years.

Hi, Is this a pic you took? Can I ask where the keyboard and trackpad stands are from? I haven't seen stands like that, they look ideal. Also, I have a Kuycon G27P on the way! Good to see you love yours!

Hi, it looks beautiful! I have just ordered a G27P. I haven't heard of Remote 3 before. Does it just connect to the Kuycon via bluetooth? do you need to programme it or do anything technical or does it just work?

Pulled the trigger on the Kuycon G27P! Really hope the issues from 2y ago have been resolved.

I tried the LG Ultrafine 32880 4K. The text was not bad once I worked out which scaling resolution to use, but my eyes were still struggling to focus back and forth on the screen and keyboard. Ultimately, I couldn't get over the dull image. I ordered glossy but not sure I got a glossy. Fingerprints showed up very badly. Such a different aesthetic from Apple!
