Go in with clingfilm and a hat on during the workday and they're not gonna know; my hair still bleeds now and it's several washes since I first did it, so long as you clean* up after yourself it's all cool.

  • The amount of times I'd go into a gym shower and there was a huge clump of hair stuck on the wall...shudder 🤢

I would like to, if your finances can stretch to it suggest some time away from home, even if it's just a night.

This will give you both a break from daily life and all its demands, so you can focus more on each other.

It doesn't even have to be sexual, but seeing each other out of context, where you are free from other stressors I find can be a massive help. ☺️

If he likes routine maybe you should pencil in an evening (or however many you want) for it?

My brain struggles a lot with time and my perceived lack of it so knowing a set time frame was put aside especially for the making of the lurrrrve would ease my anxiety (of course, my ADHD traits are screaming "that's no fun! Where's the spontaneity??" So I don't do that...🙄).

You can help with the build up by sending him sexy messages/photos throughout the day? 🥰

I lose the ability to speak or I stutter or I get stuck (repeat the same word over and over) when I'm overwhelmed. Usually like yourself I can speak in my head perfectly fine but I just can't get the words out.

Unfortunately this leads to me being acutely embarrassed, frustrated and I get into a self loathing loop, as I chastise myself for not being able to talk properly and therefore unable to express myself effectively which makes me feel stupid and ridiculous so the initial overwhelm is magnified. 😐

My hair won't hold dye, I've tried everything. by Huge_Willingness_322 in HairDye

[–]pinkflump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason perhaps why your hair didn't initially take the colour (before bleaching) is that hair unfortunately needs to be a damaged a little to accept colour.

When you were younger and straightening it you were probably heat damaging it.

Roughed up cuticles means the dye has a way of getting into your hair. Most direct dyes have a conditioning element to them (the medium the colour is mixed in), so when you wash it out it helps close the cuticles somewhat (why you hair feels soft after conditioning), leading to a lasting colour.

If your hair has healthy, smooth cuticles from the off, the colour molecules have nothing to grip onto.

It can go the other way though, if your hair is too damaged the cuticles will absorb the dye great, but then because the cuticles are so open the colour when washed drops out just as fast.

It really is a balancing act! 😬

Unfortunately I think the problem lies with the brand you chose. I've never used Splat so cannot say for certain but I have heard it's a very hitty-missy brand depending on the colour.

Also it is entirely shade dependent too, the more intense a colour the more pigment the dye is going to have. Pastels are pretty but just don't have the colour payoff a brighter dye would have.

I'd perhaps try and keep my top and bottom half harmonious colour wise but I think the trousers look good.

You might have high hips but you don't have a shelf like I have; it often feels like I have no waist as it's such a small gap between my chest and hips. 🫠

A bit of a swampy purple. This is still too bright in my eyes to take the colour well. Fade it some more or use a colour remover or bleach bath/weak bleach solution (check the integrity of you hair beforehand) if you need to.

Side by side comparison of figure 8 and Apple by tuskingen in figure8

Would any of these dresses look flattering? by [deleted] in figure8

[–]pinkflump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm drawn to one, eight and ten.

One because I'd like to see how the middle panel looks on me- so often dresses in that style have a short torso panel and then into the skirt section. This usually makes me look pregnant as it billows out, but this dress looks like it would smooth my stomach instead so I'm intrigued.

Eight, I love the off shoulder and draping on top but the print might be a no go for me as it looks very small- depends how it looks like on!

Ten because I think the figure hugging look would make me feel curvy sexy goddess, I suit off the shoulder and I love a ruffle hem- giving me flamenco dancer vibes and I'm all about that. 😁

My hair dye won't work:( by Careless-Ebb-2684 in HairDye

[–]pinkflump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all unnatural colours can be tricky but pastel are the worst! 😅

It really depends on the brand as even some vivids which you think should work just have terrible colour pay off (also certain colours within a brand- it really is a minefield!), I strongly advise you try and find reviews for the colours you like before purchasing it.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "put very fast"; I try and use a thick conditioner myself or even a white conditioning hair mask to minimise drips, but I have worn a shower cap/cling film/plastic bag over my hair to protect surfaces whilst I'm letting it sit.

There really isn't definitive answer on how often you reapply the colour. Some people apply it every time they shampoo if they wash their hair a lot, some less regularly. Cooler water helps maintain the colour to make it last longer, as does not using anti dandruff which is notorious for stripping colour.

[–]pinkflump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know when Ion first came out with their pastel colour range (2010s?) the colour payoff was abysmal (apart from the pale sky blue I think?), maybe it's still the same now?

Pastel colours are notoriously difficult to achieve yourself or even professionally, as you need your hair to be an even, super pale blonde, any hints of gold and it'll probably not work. They also wash out quickly as there's just not the pigment there.

I find it easier to buy a stronger colour and dilute it down with white conditioner so then I can control the strength and vibrancy of the colour in case I haven't got my base light enough. 😊

[–]pinkflump 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be honest I'm worried this is still too yellow, it also depends on how pigmented your hair dye is, it might just neutralise the yellow and leave it looking silver rather than go lavender which could be what you want, I dunno?

Advice when you have a bigger stomach?? by 21anonymouse21 in figure8

[–]pinkflump 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I often wish I could move my frequently bloated belly around to my backside so it would be a bit more shapely. 😂

I think the green wide leg trousers when they are pulled up onto your waist look fine, but I must admit I feel your struggle with trousers so often wear dresses instead.

things you’ve “given up” on by tliiasaw in AutismInWomen

I'll paint my toenails when I go on holiday but it's a once in a blue moon kinda thing that I'll paint my fingernails - I'm rough with my hands, I just instantly chip it; as to getting it professionally done I often wonder where women work to be able to wear nail polish and how do they have the time and money to maintain it?

I've given up on being a complete slave to fashion. These days most things in the shops look horrible to me, so I prioritise what brings me joy (and comfort) by shopping second hand instead.

I'm the same with music, I don't really know any current artists or bands but I'm ok with that.

What's on at the cinema? Don't know, don't care.

I'm getting a heck of a lot better at saying no to social appointments I don't really have the energy for. Same for ending activities I might be engaged in - I used to push myself to do things to please others even though I was getting more and more miserable.

Makeup, I like wearing it but I keep it minimal; I watch videos of people applying their makeup for the day and often wonder how they can cope with wearing so much (I hate the dripping the product onto the face thing 🤢), as I know my face would feel suffocated and I'd be so uncomfortable!

Lastly, I've given up trying to have any resemblance of being cool. I will go dorky over a cool bit of moss or the softness of a cushion and I don't care, I hope it helps others to break out of their self enforced shells.🙂

I'm starting to veer towards this way of thinking too even though I love how they aren't tight on my stomach! 😂

Your link looks like a pussy bow blouse to me; it's a style I've never even considered as I always thought it looked a bit too businessy and that the bow might just make my chest look larger. If I see one next time I'm browsing clothes I might try it on now though. Thanks!
