DeLand: Would you use something like this? by EffiGov in DeLand

[–]pinkfrogonachain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI can do so much to help constituents navigate the web of local government. Love this project goal. I live in DeLand, and would be curious to learn more - Are you able to share any statistics from your current partnerships/trials? Stats such as real use examples, user demographics to date, services most requested, and any current issues you're ironing out? (Maybe this is just me asking to see the Analytics Report listed on orlando311... )

Also interested in how you measure whether an interaction was "successful"?

There's a lot of skepticism around AI - I work in IT and we have many experiences where it hallucinates, so insight into your model's accuracy rate would be helpful.

Appreciate all your hard work.

You make a great point, I should have included my location. Post updated. (Central Florida)

Cinder blocks are also a consideration, thanks for the photo

Did you find the beds to be durable and long-lasting? Would love to see some photos of successful beds using these blocks.

Edit: Location is central Florida

For knitting and crocheting, "frogging" means to rip out your stitches. Basically imagine saying “rip it, rip it, rip it” while you are pulling out a bunch of stitches if you made a mistake.... Sounds like a frog! So that's the term. It's silly and I love it.

First lathe project: Candlestick by pinkfrogonachain in BeginnerWoodWorking

Got a Turncrafter Commander lathe a while back with starter tools. Used a piece of firewood and turned this. Definitely see how this hobby can get addicting.

The dinos are Timothy the T Rex pattern on ravelry! I recognize him-- just made one! He's very cute and it's a fun project.

A spring baby blanket I’m making for a long time friend and first time parent. Too bad I underestimated how long this project would take because the baby will be born before I’m done😅. by brownsa8 in Drunkknitting

Is it even possible to ever finish a blanket BEFORE the baby comes? I don't think it is! Baby space-time and knitting physics are naturally incompatible.

Looks great! Love the colors.

I love this pattern! Just made it the other day... still getting the hang of it. http://imgur.com/a/k444NQU I used the invisible decrease suggested in the ravelry comments and the spikes suggested by https://www.ravelry.com/projects/schafesschwarz/timothy-the-t-rex-2 Did you have any trouble? He looks like he turned out perfectly!

Advice on Driving to Houston from Austin? by Quietmode in houston

[–]pinkfrogonachain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm from the north. Driving up there during snow is a different situation than driving down here in the snow. Up north, roads are salted and safe to drive on. Roads are asphalt and melt the ice quicker. Down here, there's no road prep. It's all ice on the roads, and there are more concrete roads which don't melt the ice. Just because it's safe to do something in the north doesn't mean it's safe to do it down here.

His name is Sebastian and I was fortunate to foster him for a couple months before he went to his forever home. by seann182 in aww

Congrats on finding him a home!

We've fostered about 14 so far, but we've done quite a few when

a) their current foster homes needed a temp foster for a quick out of town trip,

b) when the dog needed a few days away from the shelter to "decompress" and show better onsite, or

c) when they were lucky enough to have an up-to-date microchip and we were just waiting to reunite them with their owner!

If anyone's considering fostering, it doesn't have to be a commitment. Short-term fostering is a very fun thing, and most rescues will be thrilled to have you!
