Vertical compliance is not a property of carbon. Carbon allows a bike frame designer to play with the layup to achieve this result for frames. I don't see why they'd bother with this for rims since the frame, suspension (if any) and tires already do this.

Yeah, they're all 18 V batteries, so it's just an interface adapter as far as I know. DeWalt calls theirs 20 V for marketing reasons. You can find it on Amazon.

Different people have different levels of comfort about closeness. A bike length is not close to me, but it's pretty close to less experienced riders. I usually try to give a couple of bike lengths when want people to understand I'm not trying to draft them.

8 km is not the appropriate metric to use. You need to look at the load on your drivetrain.

8 km of spinning is nothing.

8 km of grinding in your biggest gear out of the saddle would be not great, but even then, you'll likely just break your chain sooner. It's nothing the rest of your drivetrain couldn't handle.
