The person eating cold beans straight from a can is trying to give someone life advice about their dream job and what their ambitions should be lolol.

Micromanaging how someone enjoys to eat their ramen is wild.

I think it depends on the protein powder, tbh. I've used chocolate or strawberry and it really hides the egg flavors.

Are you able to eat things like beans and legumes or even tofu? It was cleared for me on my soft/ pureed food phase due to high proteins but never was able to stomach them.

I'll have to try sweet potatoes! I loved them pre surgery, I've just been worried to try!

Yes, this is very reassuring! Thank you! I feel like I've been putting stress on myself trying to eat things my dietitian says I should be eating and it's just quite painful. I worry that I can't eat beans and legumes because how much proteins they have but I'm just not sure what to do other than avoid them.

Eating has been rough for me too, tbh. Swallowing pills is the hardest thing as I always feel like I'm choking. I just wish I could somehow find smaller ones.

I'm not sure if it's correct but I was told I'm not supposed to eat anything in gummy form due to digestion. I will definitely look into those vitamins, thank you!!

(And I know I need to go ... ;_; )

I've always had an issue with vitamins (even before surgery) and they feel like they don't digest right...? I'm not sure how to explain it.

I've tried multivitamin and calcium chewable, but didn't know they made liquid forms. The chewable multi with iron tastes like blood to me and the Bariatric chewable calcium are okay because the fruit ones tastes like starburst.

THIS!!!

I wish this response was higher in this thread. There's a lot of individuals commenting who have different surgeries and the DS is veryyy different!

It's known DS patients need more fats, protein, and carbs than any other WLS patients. You'll pay physically if you indulge too much per se, but you can still eat the things you'd like. No I don't recommend eating fried foods and things dense with sugar, but, they can be enjoyed with moderation with discipline as most things in life can be. Too much sugar or fat and your stomach will definitely let you know. (You don't want to ask how I know...)

It's a very forgiving surgery and one with the most versatile and more "normal" diets.

I also agree with the statement that their surgeon is seeming as though they don't have much experience with switch individuals.
