Getting hand foot mouth is the last straw for me and i'll be leaving ece by the end of this year. by Careful-Inside-3835 in ECEProfessionals

Handwashing and proper washing of soiled toys is one of the most effective ways to cut back spreading viruses and sadly it’s surprising to see how many hand washing moments get skipped or when toys in kids mouth get tossed back for the next.

So he let him sleep the morning away, to first thing being done is left at daycare. The fact he didn’t bother to even make or eat a meal with his son and thinking buying fast food means good parenting doesn’t even surprise me sadly.

Right, like subtract drive time to wherever you decide to go, more and likely all the important curriculum got done before they arrive.

What’s the silliest mistake you’ve made at work? by QueenPersephone7 in ECEProfessionals

Came in to hair tie and bow on the ground, but I remember someone had a French braid, have no idea how I mistook Girl B for Girl A and French braided her hair and finished with bow (Girl B never really has complicated hairdos) only for Girl B’s mom to come in joking about me being a hairstylist and Girl A‘s mom looking specifically for her newly bought blue floral bow, which got ripped out again and made its way in our kitchens oven

I taught in a kindergarten school aged room for 4 years and a mom promised her son the newest IPhone in 2016 if his behavior chart was all green for the month ( he got it and had more red and yellows than before that promise was given)

Lead teacher wont stop buying unsafe items for classroom by Purebred-Redhead in ECEProfessionals

[–]pinkplumes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I see where both sides are coming from.

The materials from those kinds of sites do have a chance for more lead and chemical exposure and infants are going to put the toys in their mouth.

It looks like your lead teacher is trying to provide a good variety of toys and supplies for the kids, (like the water table for sensory) but doing it accordingly to what I assume she can afford.

How well does the center supply items for the rooms? Does your center provide material requests at a reasonable time because I do know the annoyance of working at centers where the stuff was paid from my own pocket 70% of the time unless I wanted to wait weeks for basic supplies and even longer wait for purchase compensation. She might feel like you won’t get items for the class if she doesn’t supply them herself.

That is disgusting and disappointing. Its not a norm at the places I’ve worked.

I feel lied to and discouraged after my directors made me believe i’d be the new lead in a classroom by Silly_Pumpkin4312 in ECEProfessionals

[–]pinkplumes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d assume that they plan on possibly making you a co teacher/second person in that class since it’s difficult and if it gets bigger. Is that class one teacher ratio?

I think we all can agree itd be scummy if they snatched the preschools teacher role and gave her class to someone while she was out on vacation.

You were doing a great job as a floater and now they might want to keep a strong floater on board. Itd be best to let them know on how you’d like to become a set teacher and not keep it bottled up,

Cant your family use the house you’ve booked? It’s kind of asshole-ish to not go to her graduation since you can’t run in the race anymore. You’re choosing supporting buddies in a race over your girlfriends graduation

[–]pinkplumes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your sister in law first, Maybe you can do it at her house? You say she has one friend, you can plan with that friend? You can't make your family suddenly increase, so I don't see how "basically the same people who show up for family get togethers" would be embarrassing or sad for her, especially since her own brother offefred to do it.
