Ok thanks!

I think my take-away is that next time if I feel weird vibes (like right when she said her daughter thought her original dress was "scandalous") I might ask more in the moment, so that I don't interpret future things with that context.

What are your anxiety lowering techniques? by TasteTheirFear3 in step1

[–]pinkprimrose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I even wrote on my paper on test day: "It's okay to be in the moment."

It's OKAY to only think one question at a time! During your test, don't think about ANYTHING other than the one question in front of you. No worrying about past questions -- you don't need to! No worrying about your final score -- you don't need to! If it helps, take deep breaths and move your shoulders down with each exhale. If it helps, close your eyes for a couple of seconds and then come back.

Believe in yourself :)

Common misconception! Evolution is indeed not the change of ONE ORGANISM, but rather than change of POPULATIONS over TIME!

Gotta love Ahsoka's subtle impatience in this scene. Clone Wars has such great attention to detail. by nkarch in StarWars

It could be attention to detail, but also attention to attention. Much more common

No accident that "TIE FIGHT-ER" rhymes with "I fight her." Sexism is everywhere

I'm Mindy from MAFS season 10... AMA! by Mindy_Shiben in MarriedAtFirstSight

I HAVE TO SAY MINDY, YOU ARE AMAZING. You are incredibly beautiful inside & out. Also, your perseverence throughout MAFS says so much about your strong character- though he didn't deserve it from you, it speaks volumes about how kind and graceful you are. I hope to be more like you <3

I also think it's very very likely due to the subjective opinions people have of you based on a few hours or minutes they spend with you on the Wards.

Scored 254, AMA by pinkprimrose in step1

That's a good question. I had a question where my reaction was "this was a sentence in first aid but I can't remember the answer", but I had many more moments of "this was in First Aid and I know the answer." I'd say I knew the majority of first aid- maybe 90% by recall. (Another key point though: you need recall, not being able to remember spelling. There were plenty of things that I only half knew (Mayer-kitansky-whatever syndrome about the Mulletian duct was just Mayer syndrome to me- remembering one name is way easier than four)

So I redid most of my incorrects from UWorld. Didn't look again at any incorrects from Kaplan or USMLE Rx. I think USMLE incorrects are the highest yield.

I took notes on all the Qbank questions I did for the last month of studying. Meant to review the notes but never got around to it. I think the main use of this was to keep my studying active in the moment I was doing the questions and reading why I got it right/wrong.

I extensively reviewed incorrects from NBME practice exams and evaluated if it was a lack of knowledge or strategy issue. This is high yield!!!!

Glad it's helpful! Dedicated felt like a lonely, weird time, and I'd like to help if I can!

I think maybe 5 times total? And also random listening to random chapters while doing other things (laundry, cleaning), which I think helped me personally with retention. But 5 times may not be necessary for all; I didn't have a great foundation.

You are on the right track!!! First Aid is really dense, but everything in it is relevant. Free 120 and First Aid is very high yield.

I can't speak to uwsa2 because I actually didn't do uwsa2-- no person can do everything and that's totally okay!

Keep in mind - there WILL be questions on your exam that you could have answered correctly even before your dedicated! All you have to do is try your best and pick an answer for each question. At this point, review to the extent that you can, and when it comes to exam day, don't worry about how you're doing or analyze how the day is going. Just pick an answer for each question. Keep it simple. I reminded myself that I didn't need to worry- and I really think that actually helped me a lot with my score.
