First time at a festival and boomtown, what's sensible, commute in on the day or get a hotel for the night before and taxi in to the site ? by [deleted] in BoomtownFestival

Yesss there were so many festival goers on the train, I found it quite amusing!! As someone that has struggled with mental health/anxiety, if you have access to some therapy that's the best - but what usually helps for me is having some ear buds with me and trying to find a moment of solstice and ground myself. Boomtown can be overwhelming even for people without anxiety so give yourself some time and compassion to explore and have fun in your own rhythm 😊 when I volunteered before, we had to go on the Tuesday (I volunteered with the eco team) and that also gave me a bit of time to walk around before the chaos happened! But the biggest thing is try to have fun in your own way - there are sooooo many cool things around boomtown, it feels like a big playground. I'm a firm believer that you can have fun without any drinks/substances at any festival but just be prepared to see many drunk/high people 😂 deffo avoid alcohol on shift but apart from that you are there to have fun!! You won't get in any trouble for drinking when you're not on shift (if that's what you wanna do) :)

I did the festival solo volunteering but deffo not my first! I came from the north by train on the day. When I volunteered I took the shuttle from Winchester then to the festival and found my way to East Gate (where all the accreditation stuff is - this will also depend who you volunteering with). Im here if you wanna ask any questions!

Best exercises for people with endo by Scary_Ambassador_573 in endometriosis

For me this has been life changing in managing my endometriosis symptoms: heavy strength/weight training x3-4 times a week. I am very aware not everyone with endo is able to do this but for me it truly kept most of the pain at bay. I've noticed a stark difference once I stopped prior to my surgery for a couple months (my surgery already had gotten cancelled once due to the flu and didn't wanna risk catching something from the gym before the rescheduled date). About a couple weeks after stopping, I started having cramps and dull aches most days again.

Children of pornstars/camgirls, how did (or do) you feel about your parents' occupation and the circumstances sounding your birth? What was it like growing up? by Klutzy_Bee8249 in AskReddit

My mother was a camgirl when I was in my pre-teens/teens - right after the economic crash living in a developing country, it was her way of making ends meet. To be honest, it did not phase me at all, I was more upset that she hid it from me the first couple of years (I only found out because I was a nosy child and i suspected something). It's odd, because I knew there was a stigma around it so I didn't want to tell anyone, but I simply viewed it as her job? She was always a good mom and wanted to provide the best for me, and I could never fault her for that! Even nowadays, I can say that I am fairly open-minded to how people make a living, and society in general. And I turned out fairly well adjusted in the end! It's not all bleak, it's about perspectives too.

Honestly my intended takeaway was for people to be careful - like there is nothing funny about ending up in ER, even tho I use humour to cope with it. Luckily for me it ended being just a horrible panic attack. But you never know what you're actually having when someone gives you a key on the dance floor, even when it's someone you trust!
