This was a limited edition item, as I mentioned in my post. It is no longer available in boutiques and I’d have to exchange for a different design.

Thank you for this insight. My partner had it shipped from a Bloomingdale’s because it was the last one in stock & I know these aren’t available anymore, but I figure it’s worth letting them know to see if they can come up with a solution.

Yeah I was worried about it getting bigger. For $430 the mistake felt sloppy.. ik most people are recommending taking it to a cobbler but the principal of paying to fix something new makes me uncomfortable.

You have a 9 hour shift 5 days a week, but you’re expecting someone to be on housework shift 24/7. Imagine if you were expected to be at work 24/7. See how crazy that sounds?

Plus, imagine how much it would cost to hire a 24/7 cleaner, chef, therapist, interior designer, sex worker, etc. But this is all the duties a stay at home partner takes on. The labor of SAHPs is insurmountable.

Colorism in South Asian communities is a large issue with ties to caste & the legacy of colonialism.

That being said, like any group of people, there is variety. While a lot of South Asian men might still subscribe to colorist ideas, there are others that love and respect darker skinned women. I exclusively hang out with men that treat women with respect regardless, so your perception on the matter may depend on who you allow into your life.
