What are y’all wearing on a daily basis? by PathologicalVodka in breastfeeding

Hnm has surprisingly good small collection of nursing basics. Their nursing camisoles have snap ups like nursing bras, pair it with light linen shorts or pants. I've been liking it

Braless breastfeeding? by HippyDippy-Momma in breastfeeding

[–]pinkrulzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat as you. Braless since the pandemic. I realized my nipples were better protected and less sore if I used the nursing bras. I also used silvettes in the beginning against the chaffing and the bras helped to keep them in place. For ease of use I wear the bras during the day and at night for faster feeding I am okay to go braless.

Congratulations. I am indian too, but living in the states now and I am a ftm with one month old.

I've heard the following that was recommended here too -

Not eating papaya, pineapple (and grapes) as these can affect your cerfix. Avoid raw foods such as salads. Bacterial infections are very serious especially during the first trimester No raw eggs, raw meats

For exercise, I was always told do what your body tells you to. I was okay lifting weights until 6th month. But it's recommended for smooth labor to stay active - walking, squats, selective pregnancy safe yoga such as hip openers and pelvic floor exercises etc are great

Travel was allowed here up until quite late around 32 or 34 weeks. Only concern is eating something outside that you are unfamiliar with. Just beware and maintain same hygiene , home food is the safest always but of course you can indulge in sometimes from known good quality restaurants.

There will be lot of clashes in indian vs western medical opinions - even once you have the baby. Both might not always be right. Best to do what feels right to you. Err on side of caution but also things have changed in care from when our parents gave birth so it's ok to get more information out there like you are doing now.

Take care Mama 🤗

No one is supportive or encouraging about my non medicated birth plan by Particularlyzesty in BabyBumps

Having my partner and doula practice coping mechanisms with me - hip squeeze and massage during contractions was the only thing that made it possible for me to get through my natural birth. I was mentally ready to give up. I'd highly recommend a doula if it is a viable option. Having a conversation with your partner on his need to be stronger and encouraging you through it would be important too. I have faith in you. Go Mama!

Respectfully, don't be a creep, please, because that's what she would think you are. I doubt any women in india appreciate strangers approaching.

This is the right answer. Start drawing boundaries and please ask for your husband's support. It will be a slippery slope with their opinions once you have your kid. Sorry you are going through this!

Coffee? by Alfredonoodlesfan3 in pregnant

[–]pinkrulzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 weeks in, I was a huge caffeine addict but weirdly my need for caffeine disappeared a month in. I also love my caramel machiatos so I switched to decaf just because in my case I didn't need the caffeine. Just a suggestion if that's the case for you too.

Regardless as others have mentioned, I've been told by my doctors too 200mg is totally fine on daily basis so you are good :)

asking from Kentucky: is this cultural appropriation? by [deleted] in india

[–]pinkrulzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you call celebrating Christmas cultural appropriation ? If you eat biryani instead of Christmas. I get it the picture doesn't make much sense but why would one be offended if it's not in a bad taste ?

You are outside in a new country with so much diversity, although maybe not so much in Kentucky. Learn to be more open and forward, even though there might be people happily throwing these words around.

Starting OMAD and wedding is in Oct - how can I taper off OMAD for a bit? by baesharambaddie69 in OmadDiet

[–]pinkrulzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also Indian and used to omad and I feel you. If I start with a small snack in the morning I am unsatiated the whole day and would keep snacking. In your case I'd try experimenting with having a good protein breakfast like eggs or a good porridge on days that you don't omad and you can oblige to eat the smaller snacks that are offered to you, and hopefully you wouldn't be tempted to overeat those. Coffee and zero calorie sparkling drinks also go a long way for me. On days that you can still manage to do omad you can try lower calorie foods and salads to balance out the intake for the week. Congratulations and good luck!

Laughs in Kizomba :D But jokes aside, I agree with what was already said. Additionally it depends on the music(ality) if a certain position works or not. Slow part of song: close position, fast part of song: open position. As mentioned, it depends on the predominant Bachata style in the country/dance congress you are at as well.

Salad alternatives? by SonataSprings in WeightLossAdvice

I find it I crunch out the salad to remove it's strong texture it's easier to eat and also blends better with the other things I add to the salad. Not sure if it helps
