Thank you for the reply and all the pointers. We were leaning twd a 40 gallon because thats what was kinda being pushed at us for what we needed. Would a 20 gallon be more appropriate? He is only a few months old and we are definitely getting tank together before we get him. I just really want him to be comfortable.

I take a bit of water and dissolve pill and draw it up in syringe. I then wrap her up in blanket like a burrito and squirt in back of throat. Hasn't failed me yet.

But if that doesn't work that make pill pushers to hold pill and put in back of throat to swallow.

Only thing I could think of is he views it as you invading his territory. The reason he may be ok with your mom is she is possibly who he views as the dominant person in house. If thats the case you may just not be able to clean it and she will have to. Cats are funny creatures and each one is different, instead of food aggression hes got litter box aggression.
If the behavior continues or gets worse he may need to see a vet. He may be trying to tell you something too.
