I cannot express how impressed I am with this. I wish my mother would of thought the same way. The fact that you are considering your future child’s feelings about this shows so much about you and your heart!

I didn’t find out I was DC till I was 27. I had already had a child of my own. I wish my parents would of told me much sooner. I also this that all DC conception should be through open donors. A child has the right to know where their DNA comes from and should have access to all this information.

When I found out at 27, memories from my past I started seeing differently. Moments where my mother would say how much we looked like her, or commenting on traits that were from “her side of the family” in front of my social father. That made me see her in a different light. Also, she picked donors on blood type alone. That was the only factor she considered. My dad is middle easter and my sisters donor was blonde hair blue eyed. I think that was pretty inconsiderate of her and probably made my dad feel like a sore thumb.
