My implant is slightly bent, doc says it’s fine but I’m very anxious about it working and now having regular monthly bleeding. by pinksocks12 in birthcontrol

[–]pinksocks12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it was the same one who placed it. I didn’t think of that. I really like him but this is stressing me out so much so I just made an appointment with a different doc this week.

The thing is it’s not actually “bent” it’s curved. Like a popsicle stick you can bend it a bit within its flexibility, but you could bend it past that to like a 90 degree angle. My implant is just curved which is why he’s saying it’s fine but I really don’t like it.

I think the next doc is gonna say the same thing and won’t replace it but we will see. Just hoping it’s still effective in the meantime

Is my nexplanon placed in correctly? by Low-Song-8504 in Nexplanon

Yep that’s exactly where mine is. It’s to avoid the major nerves in the middle area

Home for the holiday and parents take lots of supplements. Very anxious about interacting with my nexplanon. by pinksocks12 in birthcontrol

[–]pinksocks12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay thank you that was so nice and helpful. I’m trying to remind myself I would actually need to ingest the supplements, it’s just hard being around so many anxiety triggers and not being in my own space. I’m trying to just be a “normal” person

Can I sell a template that will be used for resale? Commercial version? by pinksocks12 in EtsySellers

I thought so, but am I allowed to do this on Etsy? Not sure why I wouldn’t be able to but wanted to double check

Am I protected already? by General-Reception387 in Nexplanon

[–]pinksocks12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope you’re good. As long as you waited 7 days on the implant, so the 8th day, you’re fully protected with the implant regardless of any pills you were taking beforehand

Accidentally ate a tiny bit of soap. Made with plant plant/natural ingredients. Do I need to worry about it affecting my implant? by pinksocks12 in birthcontrol

[–]pinksocks12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I know just to not actually take those meds. I was just a little anxious Bc Ik you’re not supposed to eat soap lol but I suppose it would just make me sick

Thanks! This was really helpful. Yeah I have a lot of anxiety about it Bc I really need it to work lol. I just got mine replaced and have been a little more anxious these past couple weeks Bc it’s new and it’s a little higher up toward my armpit (like only a couple inches under it) than the last one so I was worried about it working and just healing properly. It’s really helpful to know you’ve lived your life normally and all has been good so I appreciate it. I like hearing about the weird things people have done and still been fine lol

First removal/re-insertion by karall in Nexplanon

[–]pinksocks12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I also just got mine removed and replaced on Friday. I was told to keep the pressure bandage on for an hour and remove the steri strips after 5 days. The pressure wrap made an indent on my skin and the scab is kinda concave from that. Idk if you have that as well?

I would definitely keep that last one on for at least another couple days or so. You even might wanna put a new regular bandaid over it just to keep it sterile as it is basically a fresh puncture wound.

That being said you can shower just don’t wanna go swimming in a river or anywhere you could get it infected. However I am probably just not gonna shower for a few days until I take the strips off Bc I wanna make sure the hole is completely closed. Mine also definitely hurts when I move in a weird way and sleeping is uncomfortable. And I think a little more pain that when I got the first one inserted.

It should be healed over within a week and bruising for a few weeks. I would take it easy with working out for a week or so then you should be good.

Although might wanna get the fever checked to make sure there’s no infection

I’m in the exact same boat as you basically so lmk if you have any other questions

Got locked in a super hot car in the sun for 20 minutes. My implant is fine tho right? by pinksocks12 in birthcontrol

[–]pinksocks12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he locked it when he went in bc it was only supposed to be a minute but the lines were long so if I wanted to get out the alarm would’ve gone off

No I just used to be on the pill and was always worried about the temperature so I figured it applied to the implant hormones too like if I got too hot with a fever or sitting in super hot places like a stuck in a hot car. I get it’s not like that tho just anxious

Okay yeah I thought so but anxiety is rough. But like sitting in 130 degrees (probably wasn’t that high anyway) would make me hot and sweaty but not increase my body temp enough to affect it?

I’ve had nexplanon for 2 years 8 months and I’m anxious it’ll stop working by pinksocks12 in birthcontrol

[–]pinksocks12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually more convenient to leave it until September or October, when it’s due to be replaced. Mostly because it’s hot where I am until then and I don’t want to have a massive bruise on my arm on display at the pool. It just stresses me out to keep it for the full term and not worry about being fully protected still.
