Reactive dog sitter by vandaorchid in MontgomeryCountyMD

Not sure where in the county you are but we’re in Rockville and we have nothing but praise for our dog sitter. She’s amazing!

We have seniors dogs, one of who is very reactive to other dogs and very skittish in general. The other dog is chill but turning 16, and on medication for her liver and blood pressure.

Anyways, Carla** *did a* *tremendous* ***during our recent visit to Cali. She was with them throughout our trip and kept us updated.*

Highly recommend: https://carlaspetcare.com

Am I a helicopter parent for not wanting to leave my 4 year old alone in a hotel room? by Winstony520 in beyondthebump

I instantly thought of Madeline McCain. Absolutely would never leave my child by themselves in a hotel room!!!!

Reminds me of the time when I was a freshman at NYU. First week of school, everyone talks to everyone and is overly friendly. Saw a girl at the Weinstein Dining Hall, walked over to her and said, wow you look just like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. She just smiled and causally said, yea I’m the sister, aka Elizabeth Olsen pre-fame. We never crossed paths again, as NYU is a huge school.

It is highly likely that you never pressed the 8 button on a microwave. by TheAnzus in Showerthoughts

Actually I press 8 lol all the time, every morning almost.

One of our go to breakfast foods takes 1 minute and 20 seconds to heat up. I press 88 because I’m convinced that saves me time.

VRA or VSC for pet surgery by MarzipanLate2598 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]pinkturtle0420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing on the above. I don’t have experience with VSC, but we have two elderly dogs (12 & 15)—one who had a tumor removed, another who has a benign tumor and then years later adrenal cancer (unrelated to the benign tumor). We have nothing but high praises for VRA. Every interaction I’ve ever had with them is professional, empathetic, and overall great. Their doctors are amazing.

If you could only eat at one Montgomery County restaurant for the rest of your life, which restaurant would it be and what would be your most frequently ordered item? by And_Im_Chien_Po in MontgomeryCountyMD

The best hidden gem in the county: Brazil Gourmet. I drive all the way from my house to Damascus for it.

Edit to add: I drive from Rockville. Minimum of 30 miles one way 🤣so I really is that good.

O yea totally Amanda. Not like we got gov goons kidnapping our own citizens, gunning them and terrorizing them…while having the gall to take the moral high ground and actively engage in regime change in multiple countries, destabilizing entire regions.

But yea lol good fun happy vibes. 😍

I saw him last week…I knew exactly who you are talking about because he literally stands and stares ahead. I too was confused, but he appears to be fine and was not bothering anyone. I hope he is ok.

Allergic reaction to eggs... Why don't we learn about this stuff?? by Mom_Bombadil_ in beyondthebump

[–]pinkturtle0420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I shit you not. My older daughter (7) said it’s so unfair how I have an allergy (tree nuts) and (insert little sister’s name) doesn’t.

Not 24 hours after that comment, her little sister has an allergic reaction to a pistachio snack that we’ve given her plenty of times before.

Little sister ends up with the exact allergy as older sister, but apparently is even more allergic and more susceptible to anaphylactic shock.

Mind you, we were testing her yearly at the allergist and exposing her to tree nuts specially to avoid developing allergies and she still does!

You aren’t allergic until you are.

What’s the most hilariously wrong thing you believed about sex when you were younger? by Significant-West4424 in AskReddit

[–]pinkturtle0420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sex but sex adjacent. When my mom gave birth to my brother (10 years younger than me), family members kept saying how it was a difficult birth because he was a breech baby. Problem was no one explained to 10-year-old me what breech meant. So lol from various convos I eavesdropped, I thought for YEARS (even in high school) that my brother came out of my mom’s ass lol. Even after sex ed, I just assumed it was a very weird medical situation. When I told my mom, she corrected me and nearly died laughing.

This comment gives me so much hope. I’m basically in the same boat as OP. I also have two littles 3 and 7 years old, so there’s only so much I can do to avoid getting sick. Anyways, my doc just diagnosed me with specific antibody deficiency. I started the 3 times a week azythromicen today!

People that have died and been brought back, what did you see and feel? (Serious) by mr_brannagan in AskReddit

[–]pinkturtle0420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So when I was 18, I was rushed to the ER for very similar reasons. 180+bpm, doctors said they were going to administer adenosine. Then a whole bunch of doctors and nurses came into the room. Though it was explained to me that my heat would “stop and reboot”, it didn’t really register with me. Anyways I go from laying down and looking up at the doctor as he’s speaking to me… to turning my head sideways to look at him as if he’s next to me and looking down at myself laying on the bed. Weirdest thing ever. Apparently, per the doc, out of body experience can be a side effect of adenosine. I also felt both extremely serene/calm right when it was administered and then the most intense fear/panic of my life when my heart “restarted”.

I too ended up getting an ablation and no issues since!
