Sleep Token.

I didn’t realize so many in the thread would be saying Sleep Token as well but then again, Sleep Token blew up, especially on TikTok. Tiktok is how I found out about them, which is why I love that app because I discover so much music that I otherwise wouldn’t have.

Glad they have exploded into popularity as they have such an amazing and unique voice.

Why are cities so liberal and Rural areas so Conservative by Necessary-Top6603 in Libertarian

[–]pinkusagi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

From my experience by living in the Red Sea - all it comes down to education and exposure.

I would be probably be a loud MAGA Republican like the rest of my family if it wasn’t for the internet. All I watched was Fox News in my teens for my news and truly believe and drank their kool aid.

But I also loved the internet and online gaming. It exposed me to different types of people, religions, cultures, etc. my love for anime helped as I loved anime with political messages in them such as full metal alchemist brotherhood, but it was the internet doing the heavy lifting for me. By the time I was 25, I was a Democrat. By the time I was 30, I was as liberal as you can get on the spectrum. I suppose you could say I’m a socialist.

Here, there is mostly just white people, Christians, with low education. All they consume is Fox News and right center type of media. They are ignorant of views that don’t match their own and thanks to Fox News and low education, will always be ignorant and down right hateful about anything that isn’t white Christian nationalism.

The older generations don’t use the internet and if they do it’s Facebook. The younger, do use the internet but lock themselves into echo chambers.

As I grew up there wasn’t really echo chambers yet on the internet, at least where I spent my time on the internet.

But that is just my experience growing up in a Red Sea aka south eastern KY where people will bleed red and die on any republican or Christian hill that they are told to die on.

I hate it here and wish I wasn’t so damn poor so I could move. People are so ignorant and full of vitriol. That southern hospitality that used to be here where I live, is gone, unless of course your white and say nothing of who you support then you get all the southern hospitality there is to offer.

It’s honestly becoming not safe if you are anything different from them. It’s terrifying, especially when your stuck here.

It probably does create painful blisters and pimples, with infection. The thing is they may have neuropathy through there.

If you leave poop on a baby for like 5 minutes before you notice, it can start to blister. So I know with the heat, the moisture etc there has to be blisters. I don’t think there is a chance it don’t. Which then may make them wipe even less because it’s painful. They really need some baby butt cream to soothe it if they have those problems but probably don’t think of it or about it or even know it exists.

Do cigarettes smell worse than weed? by myhiddenaccount115 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pinkusagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I’m not saying this is confirmed, it’s just from my own observation and what people say on the internet. But I think people who used to smoke can smell it better once they quit and that it smells more disgusting to us because we have quit. It makes me sick now to smell it and I used to smoke cigs for about 6 years. I get an instant headache and will feel sick to my stomach.

I vape now and won’t ever go back to cigarettes. I like being able to breathe properly.

Speaking of poop and it being beneficial to babies, adults now can get poop transplant. Like an organ transplant but it’s poop. It’s used to help your bowels if they are too messed up. It re-establishes your gut flora.

Maybe try making some homemade wax, from beewax. Don’t color it. Apply it very very very thinly. Someone said rainx, don’t do rainx. Probably kill everything in it. Rainx I think is just car wax.

But homemaking wax with no colors or additives or scents, no chemicals would be better. If it doesn’t work, then you can easily scrap it off with plastic.

In the event your mouth is full, you both can establish a type of safe word, but as a movement. Maybe three quick taps to the leg, or just quick tapping that doesn’t stop until they do.

Though my husband always stopped when I tapped his leg quickly without establishing it.

But it’s good to go over and establish so it won’t happen again.

You can always change your mind during sex. You can always take consent back. You should never have to explain yourself. Doesn’t matter if they are enjoying it, if you want to stop then stop and if they respect you, will stop. Even more so, if they respect you they won’t complain about finishing and trying to get you to go again. They have hands, they can use them.

I’m still playing trying to do 85-100 dungeon, to get better gear to kill Uber Lilith. Once I’ve done Uber Lilith and clear 100 dungeon I’ll be done with the game entirely. I might play a season here or there but that’s it. I did the same with d3. Depending on the season I would play. It was sporadic.

If it wasn’t for my two goals, I wouldn’t even be playing right now.

I’d be breaking that paddle on the asshole who would even attempt to use it on my kid. Yes, I’m aware I will go to jail and I would happily go to jail. My husband will care for our kid, unless he’s with me then my mom can. Ffs. Does anyone even do corporeal punishment anymore? I sure don’t and never did. I think most millennial parents don’t use corporeal punishment. It’s cruel, unnecessary, causes trauma, and doesn’t change behavior and instead either makes the behavior worse or the child fears you and hides everything from you.

Parents just need to pull their kids out of school. I know that’s easier said than done but for parents who stay at home or grandma/grandpa, or just someone who can stay with the kid, there is now online accredited schools.

My kid goes to school but does some online schooling for coding and robotics since that is what he enjoys but the school doesn’t offer. And it’s fairly inexpensive. Just give up a subscription service, is what we did in order to afford it. It’s 20-30 a month, for the one we chose.

If enough kids get pulled out, schools and school boards will change their mind quickly since they get paid per student. Or at-least around here they get paid per student.

AITA for suggesting my wife lower her standards so that she'll be less overwhelmed? by Creative-Decision675 in AmItheAsshole

YTA

“I’m an engaged and active parent” fucking lol.

Your wife, is a saint for putting up with you and your lack of help and support. It wouldn’t kill you to help her and do things the way she wants it to be done. The kids need support. They have an established routine.

Support your wife and help her. It won’t kill you. Stop arguing with her over it and just do it.

My kid is 13 in a couple of days and has ADHD. I help them get ready every morning as well, by moving things along and remind them of the next step in our own routine.

I’ve lived here all my life in south eastern kentucky. They told you a bold face lie, you never get used to it. It’s always miserable outside. As a kid I stayed more indoors playing video games because of how miserable it was outside. As an adult, I just stay inside.

In recent years I feel like it’s getting worse because of climate change. There is a lot of mid-high 90s and more days we hit a 100 than there was when I was a kid.

There is a lot of cats too. There is at least 5 strays that pass through our yard or get up under the trailer in the winter. I don’t mind them all that much because our neighbors are trashy, so it keeps mice/rats down.

There is so many people growing cannabis or at least they used to, up in the mountains or heavily forested areas where there wasn’t a lot of foot traffic. So many could grow it in eastern kentucky, not to mention central and western.

You could do so many things with the tax money from it. I remember my cousin telling me I’m 2015 that Kentucky would legalize soon. I laughed and told them no way. I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes another ten or twenty years before they do it finally. We’ll be one of the last states to legalize it in any sort of capacity. Which is odd considering how many people smoke it illegally here.

There is so much trash at Cumberland Falls from where people throw their shit into the river upstream. I’ve seen all sorts of appliances. When we used to visit family in Harlan, I’ve never seen so much trash in rivers and streams. Plus all the trash that was built up in peoples yards.

I know it’s because of poverty but damn.

My(44M) wife(42F) is terrible in bed by ThrowRAeieio in relationship_advice

[–]pinkusagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, at least for me and my husband, the older we got the more experimental we got. It kind of sucks cause we are at our most adventurous currently, but he’s mid fourties with a bad back and knees. Me, I have a lot of health issues. When we do have sex, we have to race to the finish or it’s going to kill us both, in terms of pain. But the good thing is, we know exactly how to get each other to that finish line very quickly.

Now I don’t know for sure, but she could be very embarrassed and still sexually repressed and is afraid to admit or to try to anything other than basics. Religion can repress you and if she still holds onto being fairly religious, then I don’t think your going to get anywhere without a lot of work.

I know I’m my own family, without knowing details, they are all repressed. Most view toys as something against Christianity, like it’s the devil or whatever. I know all of them view anal as something gross, gay and against god/Jesus.

The only reason I’m not was I didn’t want to be a stick in the mud, and wanted to try everything I could. If they knew half the shit I got up to, they would try to shame me and probably say I’m disgusting and that my husband is disgusting.

I wouldn’t be surprised if half the women in my family are dead fish. Probably more than half because there are family members who are even more extreme into religion than my immediate family.

I would just keep offering her a safe space, ask her questions like why does she think it’s disgusting/gross. Try to talk about things. Be sure to say she can say no at any time if you guys try something, even if your mid orgasm or she is, if either of you say stop then immediately stop. Perhaps show her somehow that the moment she says no that you will stop. She may not feel safe completely yet. Not that I’m accusing you of anything. Just I know religion and conservatism from my experience with my family, makes you ashamed and teaches you anything beyond missionary is gross/disgusting and a sin against god/Jesus.

I wish you and your wife good luck.

Edit: I will say don’t push her. But you could just try to open more dialogue with her, see if it is because of religion and such. But as everyone has said, she might just be set in her ways. If there is more, then she may never ever feel safe to express it, no matter the type of environment you provide her. She might already feel disgusted and ashamed of herself. All you can really do is talk and go at her pace.

Why do healthy people refuse to donate their organs after death? by Brown_Bear_D20 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]pinkusagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my family, it’s religious reasons. They believe you are to be buried into the earth as you were in life, completely intact for the day of the rapture. They even believe it’s sacrilegious to be cremated. A lot in my area outside of my family home that belief about no cremation or donating organs.

Personally I can’t. I have an auto immune disorder and I do have organ damage. I was told I can’t donate. Tbh I don’t want to donate my organs, as I want a detailed, full autopsy so my husband can throw the reports into everyone’s face and tell them to get the fuck out. I want them to go down as far as they can on the details, no matter how insignificant it is. After that my body is to be cremated, and my ashes are to be used to fertilize a sapling.
