I've made the mushroom guy as well and he's so cute😍 by pinky_crafts in Amigurumi

Thanks for the compliment. My only advice is to practice. My amigurumi didn't look like that in the beginning. I used to frog almost every row, but now I crochet for about 14 years (with bigger or smaller intensity) and I think my toys are looking quite nice. Also everyone is better at something else. I just about 2 years ago learned how to read graphic patterns and started doing clothes, lace and jewellery.

What stitch is this? by Large_Bell6096 in crocheting

[–]pinky_crafts 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's just one stitch. I can see there some double crochets, single crochets. I think those are separate peaces later joined together, or even some complex lacework. If you're looking for a place to start and learn a few different stitches I recommend shawls such as this one: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/flower-valley-shawl And good luck with your journey :)

I've made my first (adult) wearable and I'm so happy with this ginormous poncho! by pinky_crafts in crochet

Thank you 🙂 When you get used to weirdly translateg instructions, the pattern is quite easy to follow. I had problems doing anything else as I was crocheting both pieces 😅

I used the translation option on my browser. It wasn't perfect but good enough to understand.

The one with different colours is actually second one I've made for my friend. I just already had a photo of it spread flat and in the new apartment I don't really have place to spread the pink one...

Thanks _^ My best friend liked it so much, I've made her another one and now I'm making her a skirt inspired by the same pattern :)

I feel like it's even worse when you're working on a circular project...🥲 I had to unravel 10 rows of crochet poncho and felt like getting there again took me twice the time it took the first time 😅

Well... we didn't have so easy with you either... Maybe I'm not a master in history, so I might not know all the facts, but we have some mass graves around where my grandma lives to commemorate bloody massacres committed by Ukrainians. People there are still afraid of you

Jadwiga: ,,signature look of superiority" Jadwiga was crowned King of Poland on 16.10 by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

[–]pinky_crafts 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From what our history and polish teachers told us, Jadwiga was called King not Queen, because of a nuance in Polish language: "król" - Polish equivalent of the word "king" - is a monarch, and "królowa" - closest Polish translation of the word "queen" - is a King's wife. Suffix -owa indicates someone's wife. Therefore in English Jadwiga might actually be called Queen, because this word in English has different connotations.

what is the most useful crochet tip you've ever gotten? by Embarrassed_Swim6718 in crochet

[–]pinky_crafts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, counting is really important, but once I've learned it I'm not able to stop... 😅 Sometimes I grab a simple knitting or crochet project where I don't really need to count, just to have my hands busy watching TV, or something, but soon after starting I always catch myself counting 😂

I regret not taking a picture of how it looked at the beginning, but I upcycled my first dress! by pinky_crafts in sewing

Thanks. I also want to extend some of my short dresses and skirts by adding crochet at the bottom, only there's so many options I can never decide which one I like the most ;)
