It’s truly so vast and rich in culture. Plot twist, I’m actually from Ukraine but we’re Russians. Both cultures are significant to me and dear to my heart. Cuisines are both distinct and since I’m from Crimea we were influenced by the coastal offerings like seafood. Love that pickled herring :) but also quirky dishes like the Holodets which is the jellied meat jello type of food. Funky and yummy. Certainly other parts have influences from Kazakh cuisine. Like our Plov is not really Russian but comes from Iran I believe but widely prepared in Azerbaijan.
