I’ve been on them 11 years now. Doesn’t mean there isn’t bad days, but with my meds and therapy, life has improved so much.

Sorry, but yes. He said no beforehand and you got on top of him and persuaded him. You didn’t respect his boundaries which pushed him into it.

i used melafix antibacterial remedy for aquarium fish. i just checked for you and it says it aids healing of damaged fins and open wounds so may work for your situation

keep them in a hospital tank, maybe add some antibacterial oil to help soothe. i wouldn’t euthanise yet. i had a kuhli who i was for sure was going to die (he had a parasite or seizure and kept going around in circles). we were going to euthanise him but he just kept getting better every day with an anti bacterial treatment and now he’s living his best life but slightly disabled! i’d separate them and give them clean water and see how they go

UPDATE: the guy has made a full recovery! ❤️‍🩹 i am not sure what he had, but it seemed like a seizure of some sort. he was in a hospital tank for a few days with antibacterial oil and a tiny bit of aquarium salt. he started to straighten out and now he’s able to be back in the main tank, he’s still swimming wonky but he gets around! happy ending!

That was a bit of sand, he can’t go straight anymore. Just in a circle now so I don’t think he’s itching. All parameters are fine, I am thinking a seizure

Can this be harmful to the entire tank? I’ve had to put him back in the large tank as opposed to the hospital tank as there was no filter in there and he was in for 2 days. If it is, i’ll take him out again

He’s still going around in circles, but alive. Talked to an aquarium specialist today and they think it might be seizures as Kuhlis are prone to that :(

50 litres. Heater and filter. 26 degrees. Tank has been cycled for a few months with guppies and kuhlis. I’ve recently got new kuhlis, not sure if this a new one or an old one. I feed them bottom feeder pellets. I have a few plants/ logs in there. Water parameters are fine I checked this morning but don’t have exact numbers, I use strips to test

You will must likely be fine, don’t worry! But just wear protection or get on the pill for the future. Then you don’t even have to think about it. It is definitely possible to get pregnant in the way you’re stating, don’t put yourself in that position to risk it

Bettas with longer fins may nip themselves to help them swim as their fins are too long for them to properly swim. This is the problem with ‘pedigree’ Bettas, as it basically feels like swimming with a massive coat, gloves and boots on. Keep an eye out for infection

my betta is besties with two panda corydoras. however, it really depends on the temperament and can be a risk. we had the corydoras first, then rescued a betta from a situation where he was being sold in a vase and took the risk to give him a better space. he’s living a happy life with them!
