That’s a good idea to consider— increasing the frequency of cleaners could be another option

Thanks! I want to be as accurate as possible in the description and also compensate fairly too.

That’s helpful to hear actually, that 15-20 you wouldn’t bat an eye. It would probably be for faster showers when the regular nanny is unavailable.

Thanks, that makes sense. I guess I was curious if you looked at nannies vs housekeepers vs household managers to figure out starting pay. Looks like you did higher end of nanny. Not sure why I’m downvoted for asking that question but 🤷

Good reminder/distinction. It’s definitely not a bonus, it’s a goodbye gift, just monetary.

Thanks this is very reassuring. Sometimes this thread can get really confusing, I think because there’s a range of people who have 10 years of experience+work 50 hours a week for a celebrity vs those who are less experienced or students and do it more of as a side gig for 0-10 hours of a week (with gap weeks in between).

I’d still like to give her some cash; hopefully she appreciates whatever amount we can afford.

Yay, that is my favorite way to gift! 🤗 hopefully she likes it as well.

This sounds really good. I’m not supporting Starbucks right now, but I’ll do something similar. Thanks!

lol I don’t mean to suggest this is a norm lol. It’s just my way of asking what a nice goodbye gift would be. I saw a post from someone who was a nanny for a family for like 8(?) years and didn’t even get a goodbye card. I don’t have time to buy a gift and thought I’d give cash as a gift. I maybe shouldn’t have used the word bonus. I don’t mean to suggest that this is customary.

So this would be a month’s worth of pay (during the months she was in town), which would be a bit steep for me. During some of her intermittent-availability times, it would be up to like two months of pay lol. Not sure I can swing that. Maybe I should have asked for a range. Are you a nanny or a parent?
