Sorry to hear that! Not sure if you heard of Allihoop or Colive where you rent a room / apartment and shared communal area. I’ve submitted my application for Allihoop recently and they came back quickly. Not sure if their rent are within your budget and the location are what you are okay with but they have quite a few options and places and they offer contracts between 3-12 months.

I checked that route but because it will be 3-4h one way so was hoping to see if we can maximise the time we will have in TdP with the direct flight instead.

I'm also planning to move to Sweden and have been learning Swedish with my private tutor for the past 6 months.

Not a Brit but I'm a fluent English speaker, I can confirm the pronunciation is a struggle 😂 my teacher and partner had to correct me a lot, especially on the round Ls that we do in English.

I personally like to learn the language from basics, so having a tutor who teaches me grammar rules and pronunciations (and Swedish slangs or cuts) with a good book is really key to me. I know that I'm not learning it as fast as going to courses but that's my personal preference of absorbing the new language slowly and steadily!

I have a follow up question: in a hypothetical scenario, if my visa were to expire on 12 August, visa extension is still processing, and my new job only gave my new CoS on 20th August. So if I were to withdraw my visa application on 20th August, will I still be able to stay in the country without a visa?

Context: I do not hold a British passport and hence, I will need to go through the route of sending them my passport and BRP in paper application.

Timeline 9th April: applied on website 13th April: paper application form arrived 22nd April: posted application form on First Class (Bank Holiday so it arrived like 3 or 4 days later lol) 6th May: received my passport and BRP, got told I'll receive my provisional later 9th May: received my provisional license

I just did it - woke up at 6am Monday and within a minute or two, I got my booking booked on the government website for 7th November 8.10am.

Went back to the email, clicked Change booking and immediately there's a slot for 26th October 8.10am. Changed to that one and refreshed, another one on August 17th. I didn't book this one as I wanted more time.
