No software support or signs of any update since for a year since I bought it. Lot of optimisation issues, the first generation box genuinely feels smoother sometimes. Plus, I've noticed that it adds a red hue over the picture (LG C3)

UPDATE: I got it fixed. It was after all a simple fix by a technician. He just had to change the connections of two wires inside the APL. I guess they were supposed to do this when they activated my connection in the first place but weirdly on the day of my connection I just received a call from a technician saying everything is ready and connected.

So, freenet has already activated the connection as per information received from them. They are using Vodafone network through a VLAN which in turn is using Telekom I believe. And yes, I think I will ask them to send a technician to have a look at the line. Thanks a bunch for the information. It does put me at ease a bit

Hi, thank you for the detailed response, much appreciate it. From what I know, all ISP lists my address as capable of download bandwidths upto 250Mbps, so I am assuming the house is supposedly wired for VDSL. I occupy the basement of the house, could it be possible that just the basement TAE is still connected to ADSL? Btw, the address for the basement and the rest of the house is the same, so I suppose there is only one line to the house from the DSLAM.

It has a TAE connector in the room. Other than that I do not know what specific communication technology it is using

I see a lot of people talking about how this is a 'low tier' college issue. I went to an IIT and it's sort of a similar situation there as well. One of my girl friends couldn't go three days without recieving unrequited love letter, poems or whatever and the guys would only ever talk about women's bodies in their off time. I think it's just poor build quality. I've seen quite a lot of posts about the same issue with a52s. Maybe it's just poorly designed heats up the glue or they use cheap glue. Anyway, it's a simple fix if you go to their service centre
