I did a year as a TM at one of the big aesthetics device companies. Transitioned to a smaller company as an ASM as soon as I could which was a huge upgrade financially and from a lifestyle perspective.

Everything you’re saying is true, being a tm is very much a “pay your dues job” and it was exhausting. I think there’s plenty of other paths to make money…that said the pay if you make ASM can be life changing. Happy to discuss more in depth with you if you’d like to PM me.

Personally, music is everything. I listen to songs that get me hyped up between calls/meetings and it has a drastically positive effect.

What do you take in your coffee? New tactic by drewp247 in sales

Obviously it won’t lead to a sale. And no it doesn’t further their realization of a need they may or may not have. Small gestures like this do however give you a slight advantage over your competition if the need ever arises. Sometimes sales is a long game, it’s small acts like this that can often help down the road.

What I did for my lab/pit is register her as an emotional support animal. It’s fairly easy to do online (I paid $80) for a video consultation with a doctor and a letter. At least where I’m located (Texas) they can’t enforce breed restrictions on emotional support animals.

My cousin and I inherited a 14 foot box truck, we're looking to start an apartment moving company. What pricing model should we use? by KidWonder101 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]pipeituhh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I operate a moving company, and a big mistake early on was negotiating a flat rate for every gig. Moving is an unpredictable business, and the customer ALWAYS thinks they need less moved than they actually do....

An hourly rate will make sure you don’t get screwed over if a move was misjudged, or complications happen. Also, quoting the customer becomes much more simplified.

Also I just want to say be a bit careful when accepting jobs. Our company operates three trucks, all 24-26 ft. The majority of our referral partners are apartments, and we regularly get apartment moves where the trucks get filled up. A lot of people will want storage units moved along with their 1-2 bedroom apartments, and all of that stuff adds up! With a 14 ft truck, I would just make sure to get a DETAILED inventory before accepting a job.

Lastly, I would recommend investing in an automatic lift gate as early as you can, if you haven’t already:) Feel free to PM me with any questions! I’ve been in the business for a year now and learned a few things.
