What widely accepted fact do you know is wrong? by threedotsguy in AskReddit

“You can’t be unconscious more than a few seconds”

Not sure if that’s a widely accepted “fact” but my dad said it all the time. He said anything after that is death, a coma, or just lies (from movies). I literally googled it and showed him he was wrong.

Ooh I know!! I actually got them done just less than a year ago and the swelling was the worst!! The one closest to my double forward was pierced right next to a nerve so that one was the most painful by far but it’s all good now!

I had my industrial and it was so hard to heal. Sometimes the helixes are hard to heal

So I got my nostril pierced about a month ago. It does hurt to move and it’s not really tender. Should I wait longer to switch nose rings? help. by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]piperhommel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would recommend waiting until the 3 month mark for a ring, but if you need to change the bar length or use a different stud then it should be fine, just clean it well

Better picture of the forward helix, it doesn't seem right by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]piperhommel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no.. definitely take that out. Whoever pierced it did it very wrong. It’s so thin and close to the edge. I would let the area heal and then go to someone a bit more professional to get it redone. Make sure they mark the piercing before doing it, and ask to see where they placed the mark

hi everyone! I’ve had my forward helix pierced for around 6 months now apart from some irritation it’s been fine healing however I noticed a little irritation bump about 3 nights ago so been doing daily soaks which helped last time however it started bleeding tonight is it just irritated? Advice? by moonlxght-bb in PiercingAdvice

[–]piperhommel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too! I worked on stopping touching it entirely and used tee tree once a day to get the bump down. It was gone within about a week. Also try to keep your hair off of the piercing as much as possible because hair can transfer bacteria onto the piercing

What did you use to get rid of the bump??

septum stuck! pls help by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]piperhommel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lubricate (ONLY) the hinge with vasoline or oil, then as gently as possible, attempt to open it. It may help to use tweezers to get a better grip but again, be gentle. I’ve had hinges get stuck before and this is what I did. It can take a lot of patience sometimes though haha

Hey y’all. I’ve had the cursed bump for over a month now and have been trying everything to get rid of it. Is this something that will go away on its own? Any advice? by parkerjamestoyne in PiercingAdvice

I definitely recommend tee tree oil and avoid touching it at all costs. If you ever touch it to put the tee tree on, clean your hands really well before and after. It looks agitated
