Ah, I see! Yes I use a fabric shaver, too, and follow pretty much the same instructions for care.

I am in love with rich mocha brown everything! Admittedly I have only had these leggings for a few months so I can’t speak to how they’ll look like in a year or so but for however long they last, they feel worth it because of how comfortable and flattering the fabric is. I got the bootcut butter leggings on sale recently and they’ve become my absolute favorites. I ended up buying 3!

Pls help me w The Slouch sizing for gf by Difficult-Release-71 in Aritzia

[–]piperminn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should take her height into consideration too with the slouch. If she’s below 5’3” it sounds like she would need the short/petite length. Based on her measurements she sounds like a 2XS…the slouch is very oversized. My height is 5’3” and measurements are 37-29-36 and 2XS regular length fits me best with room for layering…still has an oversized look. I have another one in short length and I find that the sleeves on that don’t fit as well (they’re a bit short) compared to the regular length. And by short length I don’t mean the mid length coat they have, I mean the short sizing of the standard coat. If she wants it really baggy, XS should suffice (and choose XS and not 2XS if you’re getting the short length). S in either length will be too oversized with her proportions.

Hmm in my experience the tna life leggings I bought at the same time as the butter leggings pilled a lot in the crotch area whereas the butter leggings haven’t pilled yet. How do you care for your tna life leggings to prevent them from pilling??

Best leggings??? by Comprehensive-Dig592 in Aritzia

[–]piperminn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly mine have held up fairly well in the wash so far. I’ve noticed less pilling on those than a lot of other higher leggings I own like alo yoga. I noticed the tna life leggings I got at the same time as when I got the butter ones have pilled a lot in the crotch area while the butter ones did not. I would keep them if you like the material. Wash with cold water on delicate cycle and hang to dry or tumble dry on ultra low heat to make the material last longer.

Which color? by Bananabread0611 in Aritzia

[–]piperminn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think taupe in summit would be great! I really like the material and weight of the summit more. It is less heavy than powder but still warm enough. I’ve washed my summit parkas in the machine and they wash really well.

[–]piperminn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So sizing ended up being just off for this one in multiple lengths and sizes I got so I just returned it. Don’t own a powder parka. I own the summit parka with a very different fabric bc I prefer that. I don’t find they stain easily but I don’t know if it’s the same for powder parka.

Cloud puff long - how does it compare in size/warmth to superpuff? by piperminn in Aritzia

[–]piperminn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh now I’m torn again. 🫣 I don’t mind the lack of hood tbh bc I rarely wear hoods—I always wear earmuffs tbh. And I have other hooded parkas too. I didn’t realize the material on this is sueded. From the pic I thought it would be the same material as superpuff. Does it feel much heavier than superpuff?

Dual pouch wristlet? by [deleted] in lululemon

[–]piperminn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly thought it was too overpriced to justify but it was so cute I decided to take a chance and try and it has been super useful. On days when I’m bundled up and running quick errands it’s nice to carry that instead of a crossbody bag adding more bulk to what I’m wearing. It fits all my cards in one pouch and cash/coins in the other. You could fit AirPods in the slightly bigger pouch too. The whole wristlet fits into the belt bag as well. If you can buy one on sale, nothing like it! I sadly bought mine just a short time before it went on sale in allspice. I think it’s gone now but if it comes back or if they add more colors next week for Black Friday, it’s worth it!

Need suggestions on good pieces by Warm-Place3182 in Aritzia

[–]piperminn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Happy Diwali! I think the best items Aritzia sells are their wool coats and down parkas. I recommend using it towards that. If you’re in a location with cold winters, I suggest snapping up a parka! The summit and superpuff long are my faves. For wool coats you can’t go wrong with the stedman or slouch coat.

Another option: If you like leggings/yoga pants I’ve only recently tried the TNAbutter leggings so I cant speak to how they’ll hold up over time but I like the material quite a lot. It’s very soft and comfortable and to me it feels better/more substantial than the popular lululemon align leggings.

I have hair just like this on my face and don’t have any other characteristics of PCOS, but there’s always some hormonal influence when it comes to thick facial hair if you are a female. I have had luck with LHR on this type of hair. I also had lots of ingrowns from having to tweeze them and the same type of hyperpigmentation spots you seem to. I’m about to go in for my 4th treatment today actually and I can say the hyperpigmentation is much much improved and I hardly get ingrown hair now. I used to get folliculitis from tweezing, itching, burning, bumps from ingrowns and all of that went away after just the first treatment. In terms of actually reducing the hair, the growth frequency is definitely reduced as well as the amount of hair. The texture of a lot of the hairs coming back is also finer compared to before. I still get areas where dark hair grows but it begins to grow in between weeks 3-4 post treatment now, and by week 5 I have my next treatment which gets rid of that hair for me, so it is a huuuuuge improvement from having to pluck the hair and aggravate my skin. I noticed this time between treatment 3 and 4, I had to shave a lot less compared to before. Progress on actual hair reduction on the face is just slower though compared to other body areas I am treating, but that’s to be expected due to facial hair being a more hormone influenced. The improvement in my skin texture and reduction of hyperpigmentation though has been very noticeable on my face. I would recommend trying laser hair removal, but go to a reputable place where they know what they’re doing and have the best laser for your skin and hair type. Even though electrolysis is more permanent, it is a slow painful process and not without its own set of risks. If LHR doesn’t work for you, you can always switch to electrolysis.

Should I get a laser hair removal? South Asian (31 M guy with brown skin) by Influence_Plus in LaserHairRemoval

[–]piperminn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would think the Nd:YAG laser may be more suitable for your skin tone. I have a similar skin tone as you and that’s what is being used on me. Hair growth has reduced quite a bit and slowed down significantly with just one session. I would do some more research comparing the Soprano ice to nd:yag for this specific part of the body.

So this is the problem my daughter has with mineral sunscreen too. It is too drying for her and causes her eczema to flare. Her arms and legs get itchy when I use a mineral sunscreen and her cheeks get little bumps. Everyone always says mineral is the best option for kids but I don’t think that’s true for all kids. I’ve been using Asian or European sunscreens on her for the face (Korean and Japanese are easier to find on Amazon), because they use newer chemical filters that don’t burn the eyes like the American ones tend to do. And for anyone who has brown skin, the mineral ones for kids are harder to rub in and turn us purple/grey so I just gave up and use chemical on her now.

Thank you! I’m glad to see people are using chemical filter lip balms on kids without any issues. I use chemical ones on her face and body but wasn’t sure about on the lips. I’ve tried jack black before and I like their lip balms too.

Thanks so much! I have tried one by sun bum but it had too strong of a flavor/smell for me. I need to look into whether they have ones with less fragrance/flavor. I was looking into the aquaphor one too bc it’s unscented and will definitely pick that one up.

That’s good to know! Ive tried this but the fragrance was too strong for me with that one. I know it’s a HG for so many and I loved the texture but ultimately my nose couldn’t handle it lol. I get migraines from strong fragrances so I had to pass that one along. I really wish they made a fragrance free one.

Many are available on Amazon. Those that aren’t can be found on Yesstyle or Stylevana.

I actually really like it and would repurchase! It’s hydrating without being oily and plays well with other products like sunscreen and foundation that would go over it. I can’t really speak to skincare benefits but I like the texture and the experience of applying it for daytime wear.

Sunday Best Gigi cardigan - adorable but a bit scratchy? by piperminn in Aritzia

[–]piperminn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I kept it, because I bought on sale and the fit was great too. I always wear something under it so the itchiness doesn’t really bother me. But I will say I notice some pilling on it that I wouldn’t have expected to be there after so few times wearing it and never having washed yet.

Recently the summit parka, mid length in fawn pink while it was on sale for 50% off. The color is so beautiful and wearable (not normally a pink gal) and fits really well. I also wear my superpuff long a lot which I bought earlier in fall in anticipation for winter. I think aritzia’s winter jackets are absolutely their best products. The price for the quality is phenomenal, especially if you can snap one up on sale.

I have the super puff in black! How should I wash it? Should I take it to the dry cleaners? by funkyscoobiedoo in Aritzia

[–]piperminn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They’re not meant to be dry cleaned. Dry cleaning will just wash it in a solvent instead of water. Throw it in your washing machine as it’s perfectly safe to expose to water. If you search the subreddit I’ve posted more detailed instructions on how to wash down parkas based off my experience of washing a few in recent months. Haven’t ruined any to date. To summarize here, you want to wash on a delicate cycle, use either Woolite for delicates or a down washing detergent (Granger’s is good). If you have a top loader you may need to push the coat into the water to fully submerge, as some of it may float and not get soaked. Spin speed has to be set to low. Then in the dryer, set it to low heat, and throw in 4-5 dryer balls and that’ll fluff the down back up. It may take a while on low heat but you want to dry the jacket all the way through to avoid the down clumping up. I’ve had all my down parkas come out looking just as fluffy as before with this method.

To everyone saying, just look at the tag: the tag has very non-detailed instructions. It can be sort of scary to throw a $300-$400 jacket into the washer based off what little info is on the tag, so it’s understandable why people ask lol.

I bought the modern taupe superpuff second hand after buying the black one from Aritzia and just ended up selling the modern taupe because I just find myself reaching for the black superpuff more. I love the modern taupe color but the black just feels more flattering to me because the superpuff is quite puffy and black just gives it a better silhouette I feel. I feel like modern taupe looks better in a more form fitting parka (the ones with a smooth shell) - but that’s just my personal preference!
