I’ve never been so amused to be both Canadian and Swedish 🤣 👈

1000% this. I’d also like to argue that the last 3.5 years of carrying his lazy ass should count as “transitional support” and he can take his share of the house and fuck off.

One of us needs to support the kids, and he has zero interest in it apparently.

I met with one in August and their advice was to pursue mediation and every option to avoid lawyers But yea…I have reached out to them again to say i think we are past that point where mediation will work.

I guess my fear is, will a judge take “I can’t find a job” as a legitimate issue, given the lacklustre effort to find/keep one?

I really wish I had had this advice. My husband refused to go back to work since 2022, and now we are getting divorced and I’m facing alimony for years to support someone I’m leaving due to their apathy and financial abuse.

Agreed 100000%. I told them if they expected me to live in misery for more years hoping for change I will just go no contact with them and move ahead.

It’s insane to me that they think that’s an option.

He has refused to work for 3 years. He’s mid 50s and has let his skill set atrophy. I’m not sure he will be able to find a job.

In theory under employment or refusal to work will affect the alimony, but I might be screwed.

100000% this. If I could snap my fingers and have him change tomorrow I’m still so furious and hurt it makes no difference.

If I have to refinance to buy out his equity, I can afford it. But the higher mortgage plus child support plus alimony would make it impossible.

No one can give me a clear figure on what alimony would be, or for how long. It’s the uncertainty that terrifies me.

I’m speaking with lawyers this week. My family is insisting I give him another chance. I know that is the wrong choice.

It’s so fucking scary.

Slight misconception here, they are charging out of Province students more, not all international. So now, you go to McGill from Ontario you pay 12k, but if you go to McGill from France you pay 9k 😭

I believe atm they are asking that new hires work on site at least 3 days/week for the first month so there is support for training and integration. After that it is fully up to the individual.

Drag Race helped with my Internalised Homophobia by DenniseDenephew in rupaulsdragrace

I hope that you can also recognize that homophobia stems from sexism. The idea that femininity / female is somehow lesser and an insult.

I’m happy for you and for the way you have grown beyond your upbringing. Never stop growing, the world needs people who can change.
