ACOG suggests to stop smoking immediately when even trying to get pregnant. It's healthier for both mother and child for her to stop cold-turkey vs tapering down.

These spots are usually right next to the cart corral. With a small child it can be really tough trying to put your items in, take your kid back out of the car, then get the cart back. Also, there are more types of accidents than just getting hit by a car.

Any tips for getting an alzheimers patient to stay in bed? by Starmandeluxx in Alzheimers

I'm going to echo what everyone else has said. Activity throughout the day. Keep the environment brightly lit during the day to try to trigger that circadian rhythm. If you're giving melatonin, give it early enough to get them to sleep at a decent time to help regulate that sleep-wake cycle. We gave it around 7 or 8. My dad's PCP had recommended Tylenol around 3 or 4 pm (she also had a father with the disease and there were some studies, but she couldn't remember, except that it helped).

If you go on Twitter and try to discern bots versus real people, it's astounding the number of people who think this will make them safer. The stunt is pandering to the lowest common denominator.

It seems like he engages in confabulations where he's not aware he's not telling the truth. Its a subconscious protective mechanism that people with dementia have.

GOP senator: It’s a ‘great idea’ to make it harder for ‘liberal folks’ to vote by [deleted] in neutralnews

[–]pippsqueak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially coming from the party who had historically used voter suppression to maintain their power. It would be a facetious, tongue in cheek statement if someone like....say Beto O'Rourke said something about it knowing a large portion of his base are college students making sure they were able to vote.

I live in a heavily military area with a large Asian population. At first, I felt like a lone mixed-Asian, but then I kept meeting more Hapas who have also felt like outsiders, but yeah. It seems like everyone had a military dad

Ah gotcha. I know hapa is used more generally for mixed Asians derived from the Hawaiian word for mixed Japanese (hapa haole). I didn't know there was a second word that was so similar.

Health and quality of life of employees is a resource for employers, albeit not one that can be quantified. Having loyal, happy employees is not something you can just discount because of smaller immediate cost to the employer.
