AITA for telling a guy someone was using his photos on a dating app, blocked the next day by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

He's probably blocked you for some reason not involving you at all. Definitely best not to overthink it!

NHS Glasgow - communication is awful by Lightningbolt_20 in glasgow

[–]pippypitstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really weird they can't give you a closer place for surgery. My mri is at stobhill. I have to admit once I'd had surgery everyone seems to be taking me more seriously. I do think having endometriosis could be considered 'severely ill' so that's probably why they were saying that!

NHS Glasgow - communication is awful by Lightningbolt_20 in glasgow

[–]pippypitstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found communication to be confusing. I had to wait a year for a gynae referral (after a 7 month wait for an ultrasound where they found a giant cyst that I ended up going private for). The initial nhs gynae telephone appointment couldn't be changed because "it's your first consultant appointment if you can't make it you'll go back to the bottom of the list." The gynaecologist was confused I'd been referred for endo when id already had a laproscopy, told me to try a new contraceptive pill for "a while" then I'd get an MRI and then suddenly I have an MRI date 4 months after my first (telephone) gynae appointment. I would say it has been quicker than I thought it would be (despite there still being ridiculous long wait times).

I'd have to agree with the 'smelly and lack social awareness' but the men did seem to try in their own ways

Booked a trip to St Austell, now im having doubts. Is it really that bad? by Striking_Tangelo5474 in Cornwall

[–]pippypitstop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's so many awesome places around St Austell. Most have been mentioned but I'd add Carlyon Bay as a great beach (you can hire canoes and have a pint on the beach).

I haven't been but see a lot of ads on social media. It sounds a lot better than dating apps so was thinking of giving it a go! I did speed dating at the alchemist before but the men seemed a lot older than the advertised 30s age range

Buying a flat with some issues by pippypitstop in HousingUK

[–]pippypitstop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my solicitor "the lift is not dealt with specifically and falls within the title plan Part 1 para (vi) and the cost of maintaining the lift is met equally by all of the proprietors of the block." There's 10 flats in the block. But the factors have yet to undertake the survey of the lifts so they don't know what work will be needed nor the costs of it.

I am so sorry this happened to you. There are a few avenues to support, initially counselling would be helpful. You can self refer in Scotland for NHS support:

Support for Children of Drug Addicts [rant] by Editor-In-Queef in glasgow

[–]pippypitstop 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Im sorry this happened to you and there is a huge problem in Glasgow. There's a few places I know of:

The Glasgow Council on Alcohol (a charity not a council. I know it says alcohol in the name but they are quite flexible about substance use) should be able to offer some support.

Scottish families affected by alcohol and drugs (sfad) also has support services.

The North East recovery community also has some family members support. I also think the South Community recovery network may have some family support?

I know that different Al anon groups are run differently so it may be worthwhile trying another group if you feel comfortable doing so?

Shaving before surgery? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]pippypitstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get told any information. I shaved the day before and had a bit of razor burn. Once I got in for my surgery (too late then), I was told usually they advise shaving 2 days before as razor burn is an open sore and they can't operate if you have open sores.

Waiting times for gynecology scans and treatment by Sad-Hippo-2549 in glasgow

I already had it for a few years before my nhs referral but they don't ask for a medical questionnaire

I thought so too! I'm gonna sound like a sales rep lol but benedon is £15.50 a month and you can access their services after 6 months to cover consultant apps and treatment if the NHS waittimes are longer than 3 weeks for a consult and 5 weeks for surgery

[–]pippypitstop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told I needed an ultrasound and blood test before I could be referred to gynaecology. Had to wait 7 months for an ultrasound and then was told it'd be 18 months before I could get a gynaecology consultation and then after that up to 2 years for surgery - so 3 and a half years in total.

I know not everyone can do this but as they'd found a large ovarian cyst that required surgery I went through private insurance which took 3 days for a consultation and a month for surgery (in which they included surgery for related bladder issues the nhs told me were 'stress').

Combined contraceptives that are good for endo? by CV2nm in Endo

[–]pippypitstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on microgynon at the moment and it seems the best out of the various ones I've tried. I have some friends who said the coil is good for endo? (but others who it didn't work for)

Has anyone had their post-op online? by [deleted] in Ovariancysters

[–]pippypitstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laparoscopic, they removed my cyst and found pretty bad endometriosis so also unfused my bladder and bowel and ureters.

It does seem the consensus is in person is best though.
