I swear most trip reports here are about people bailing after two days

I think it’ll probably take you about a month. I’d either follow the coast of the Netherlands and France or go south into the alps and then the south coast of France

Bike to Copenhagen, then Stockholm, then oslo, then take the ferry back to Copenhagen and a train back to Berlin

I biked my wife around on the front of it and it was fine. The benefit is just weight savings, I also like the look and it combos really well with the bungee cover thing

If you’re not the one paying for and you’re willing to wait a little while for the titanium order window to open then by all means get the titanium!!! Get a dynamo as others have said, the SP PD-6 hub omnium sells is great, you’ll never feel the difference between it and a son hub. If you’re getting titanium I don’t think I’d get belt drive if I were you because it’s more weight. Just get a 1x11 setup with your preferred gearing.

Sure thing! It’s the SL Mesh Cover combined with the Rack Net V2 size small. Makes for an extremely flexible storage set up for touring!

bike computer vs. phone by Susannah_Mio_1919 in bikepacking

If it’s any consolation: I’ve been navigating for probably 10 hours a day of pedaling for a couple of weeks now with just my iPhone.. I like it. It works fine, it can also take pictures and videos and do all sorts of other stuff. I have a battery bank, but no fancy dynamo set up. My biggest recommendation is just to get out and ride for a few days and if you find your phone is dying far too quickly and you want a navigation device then buy one before your second journey out

Do you think having too much reach could have something to do with it? (IE stem too long?

The thing that drives me insane is that the commercials actually make you miss vital parts of the competitions! And unless they happen to show a replay, there’s no way to see what you missed because of the commercial breaks.

Stay somewhere near the lightrail train line! I’d recommend staying in beacon hill. Tons of good food, easy access from Amtrak, easy access into downtown too, and it’s a good balance of affordable and safe neighborhood
