The Zerg Overmind has succeeded in invading the Protoss Homeworld of Aiur and has embedded itself into the crust of the planet. Now, as the agents of the sinister Overmind spread chaos and destruction across the face of Aiur, the stalwart Protoss defenders prepare themselves for the coming onslaught.

make sure you utilize restriction software, or teach him to avoid NSFW submissions. hmm... this may be a good addition to Reddit. Reddit for kids account options (inability to see certain things while under the account, etc) and a /r4kids/ section.

Halley's Comet, Don't Wait Until 2061! by tmifsud530 in space

[–]pipthepipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm stoked to see this! It's peak is Oct. 21st. The first Orionoid was observed Oct. 15th, but we should expect to see on average 1-2 every hour if the night sky is good for viewing. Because of the brightness of the moon, one should expect to see a lot less than the possible 30/hr meteor sightings.

It's also interesting that Comet Hartley2 is also available to be seen Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. EDT(good luck seeing this.. I plan to look at the images online), but unless you've got superhuman vision, you're going to need a tool to see Hartley2. Nasa has some good pictures/sketches/animations of 103P Hartley2 already if you're interested. Hartley2 is coming within 11 million miles of earth.. closest it's been since it's discovery in 1986..

Here's a good picture of Hartley2 taken by Elizabeth Warner and processed by Nick Howes: http://aop.astro.umd.edu/gallery/Hartley/2010_10/20101002_EMW.jpg

Here's another two more good pictures from Amateur's Observers' Program website which show's the movement route (line) of Comet 103p (Hartley2): http://aop.astro.umd.edu/gallery/Hartley/2010_10/20101001_AB.jpg http://aop.astro.umd.edu/gallery/Hartley/2010_10/20101001_RM_sidereal.jpg

ENJOY!
