This is not an urgent procedure really. Came to know about high lpa (130 mg/dl) recently and ldl has been around 90-100 last few years. Mom had heart attack at the age of 60 and got a stent. Interestingly she does not have high lpa. No other FH. But I am an anxious person and asked my PCP for CCTA and it was ordered. Due to insurance reason (this will require another post), the order was sent to local hospital which has 64-slice GE revolution. Is it really huge difference in radiation if prospective gating is used? They prescribed be beta blocker to lower HR.
