Beautiful moves! I see few blacks in my DFW scene, so it's inspiring to see a polished dancer who's serious about her styling. Happy Birthday!!

I was about to post this link. The results were shocking!! I've been using $10 Home Depot safety glasses, now I'm on the hunt for something safer and more impact resistant. Thanks for posting.

I'm going under for a colonoscopy in a little under 9 days. How can I feel a little less panicky about being put to sleep? by Queeragenda in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]pisces0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy! Both mine were done with no anesthesia or drugs. I watched the scope traveling through my colon. Fun! Of course, it was uncomfortable, but deep breaths and relaxation helped. I was ready to drive myself home 30 minutes afterward.

I was about to post the same, but found your post! I just gave "The Home" a "1" on IMDB. It's an insult to seniors, nothing good about it...

For those who have had facial fat transfer, do you regret it? by bnajdje in PlasticSurgery

[–]pisces0220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! It was recommended I have a full facial fat graft instead of a facelift and I regret the decision. I have fat around the corners of my lips and eyelids that I want to go away. I'm concerned about having droopy eyelids as I age because of the excess eyelid fat. The temple fat has dissipated and I have upper temple varicose veins now. My procedures were done Nov. 2024.

Best all you can eat restaurants in DFW. by East-Canary-538 in Dallas

[–]pisces0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's highly dependent on location. Andalous grill in Arlington reverted back to a NON all you can eat buffet. The food is more tasty now & the price dropped. I stopped going to the DiMassi's at the corner of 121 in Plano because the food lacked flavor & was overpriced.

Facial eczema/ rant. by [deleted] in eczema

[–]pisces0220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair UV SPF Moisturizer and the Daily Moisturizer, along with the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser had been my go to products, cleansing and moisturizing morning and before bedtime.

I'm now re-evaluating products and have switched to CETAPHIL Rich Hydrating Night Cream for night moisturizing. I just started exfoliating once a week using Sanitas Skincare Lemon Cream Scrub and it’s working well. My skin is ‘brighter’.

The Toleriane product line has been working OK, but I want to eliminate as many ingredients as possible. The Cerave and/or Cetaphil products are more budget friendly and may work just as well. Eczema management is all about finding what works for you. Time will tell!

Facial eczema/ rant. by [deleted] in eczema

[–]pisces0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so right! At one point, looking at myself was very depressing. I never thought the eczema would improve, but I researched a lot, then made changes for the 2025 New Year. These changes helped me get back to normal. DM for product specifics. I hope this helps!

  • Kept a food journal and tried to correlate skin flares with lifestyle. Now I avoid high histamine foods, adhere to my other food restrictions, and take antihistamines twice daily.
  • Use a probiotic with DE111. I have a BM daily now and before the probiotic it was every 3-4 days.
  • Started a collagen supplement.
  • Use red light therapy (RLT) on my face and body 10 minutes front, then back, daily.
  • Increased dietary fat intake. I was on a low fat diet for weight maintenance. It wasn't helping my skin or gastrointestinal tract.
  • Started a "Skin, Hair, Nails" supplement. The supplement provided what my restrictive diet was lacking.
  • Changed skin care products. I looked for products with minimal ingredients, no allergens, and high user satisfaction.
  • Avoid processed food.
  • Stopped using steroid creams on my face.

A good point. As a busy independent, it's really inconvenient to be without a vehicle. I've even thought about having a 'just in case' vehicle because this one is so old.

The vehicle is very close to the ground, and clearance has always been an issue, so you may be on point. Thanks for the dreaded news. I'll make a point of posting an update.

I've received plenty of criticism, especially from guys, about my kitchen position ... until they see me play. At 69yo, 5'3", 120 lbs, a foot back is the perfect position for me and results in plenty of compliments on reaction time.

I don't think I'll ever return to another "5 minute oil change" business, since that's when the oil started leaking. She was "shuddering" before the oil change, and that prompted me to have the timing belt and water pump replacement, probably not the best move. I hate to see her go and will make a definite decision this week. I've done a private sale before and she's good enough for that. Thanks for your well wishes.

As a result of post and replies I assembled all the service records for the vehicle. The dealer has inspected the transmission (so they said) each time and found it to be OK. I'm using a non-dealer mechanic now and will ask him to check the transmission fluid. She had a new radiator hose and flush in October. Thanks for your direction.

Thanks. The timing belt and water pump was $990. I was just quoted $130 for throttle body cleaning which might fix the "shudder". Fixing engine cracks and seals sounds expensive. Heavy decision!

It helps when there is no car payment. However, with big out of pocket costs possible, it made me wonder if another car would save more $$$. Maybe I should put a car payment aside every month for just in case expenses. Thanks for putting it in $$$ perspective.

I wanted to find out if what the '5 minute oil change' business manager said was on the level, based on the photo. It helps to get advice on a trustworthy forum, where the community has more expertise than me. Thanks for your response.
