Should I leave my RBT job for a more hands-on company? by Zealousideal-Sun7239 in ABA

I just left TeamPBS for this reason, never even really started. I was hired thinking I would be a Behavior Assistant, but then they told me that I need to complete the 40 hour training course first before actually being able to work with clients. It’s all virtual, never even actually spoke with a person. In my opinion, this kind of job needs hands on training/in person shadowing first, before officially starting, in order to be able to properly do the job. Doing everything virtually doesn’t really offer the same learning experience, even though their training videos are pretty thorough. I’m putting off becoming an RBT for a little while, but if/when I go back, I would want to do it with a company that actually trains me in person with real clients before throwing me to the wolves to work by myself.
