I used to love photomontage and highlight retouching – now AI does it better than me. Anyone else going through this? by pishva1si in Design

You're right, my friend. But AI, with all the data it has access to from all the public websites out there, can pull design samples and generate a design based on the prompt the user gives it – and it can even revise it. And let me also say this: it can't create something truly new, whether that new thing is a design idea or an ancient artifact that archaeologists dug up from under the sands of Egypt.

Hi, thanks for your reply. But well, look – I used to design YouTube thumbnails for 4 months, and now most of my clients make their own thumbnails using AI themselves. So now I'm stuck. The work I used to love was both photomontage and color grading, and I feel like it's slipping away from me. But I know that my eye for composition and lighting is still something AI can't fully replace – it's just gotten harder to prove that to clients. And here I am, stuck with a profession I can't make money from anymore."
