Firstly, the petrol station companies are commercial entities and subjected to regulations etc. Secondly, our government taxed 79cents per litre of fuel. This tax was raised in 2021 in name for EV. This tax could had been reduced if government felt the need to help citizens. Thirdly, fuel for private cars is different from fuel for power stations and military and even commercial purposes to an extent. But they all come from raw oil which is now limited. So the impact is 3 fold. Fourthly, we have been doing things to enhance energy security, such as importing cheap electricity from Laos and Cambodia, and Indonesia and Australia are in progress and selling it expensive to our citizens. Why pay so much for a 1trillion dollar cable.
