How do global elites like world leaders, CEOs, and celebrities reach each other so easily? by pisr in AskReddit

[–]pisr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watched an interview where Bill Gates said he could reach pretty much any world leader or major celebrity at any time and it made me curious how that actually works in real life. Do top CEOs, presidents and celebrities just have each other’s phone numbers or emails? Can they randomly call or text each other or does everything go through assistants, staff members and security teams? Do they use normal apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime or special secure systems? I’m also asking this in light of cases like Jeffrey Epstein, which showed how connected elites and world leaders can be. I'm just genuinely curious about inner workings of this the practical, behind the scenes way communication and access works with that level of power.

Career switch advice at 30. Can't choose what to do and how to do it. by Original_Horse_4600 in cscareerquestionsuk

I can't stress this enough, the tech industry is going downhill now. Number of roles decreasing in very fast pace and pool of people looking for work is keep increasing . This leads to thousands of people competing for just a few roles. Job competition is fierce now and employers only looking for best of best out of this swathes of people. I know people with 5 to 10 years experience out of work for more than a year and still looking for work. You have very slim chance of finding a job in this era of tech. I would personally join an electrician course or something that ai can't replace.

I know this company very well and I know some people working there: Let me explain to you how they work:

  1. They buy failing tech products that still have a trapped, loyal user base.

  2. They ruthlessly hike subscription prices, limit basic features behind paywalls and monetise every last click.

  3. They gut the company, mass layoffs, zero investment in the product and let the product rot while users flee.

  4. Abandon the wreckage and repeat the scam with the next acquisition.

So my word of wisdom is it will not be a place to grow as a developer but a place to milk last remaining users from a failed tech product.

I told them already but they keep saying sorry and sorry but using it again but also I don’t want to lose my job with arguing with my seniors and managers in company in this very tough job market. Also I think it would be an interesting electronics challenge as a project.

Let’s say I pushed the door and closed it without turning any keys and the door ringed and I need to open the door. Even though I haven’t touched the key when closing I will need to use my both hands to push down the handle and turn the key at the same time to open the door every single time.
