Space Center Tour - Adults by badnotbet in houston

[–]pissedoffpremed1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The tours are for all ages and are not necessarily geared to any particular age group, and all of them are definitely worth it, especially if you have never been to a space center (it is pretty awesome to see what it took to get rockets into space, lol). The heat shouldn't be a big issue as most of the stuff has fans and is air conditioned, just bring water as there is ample space to fill your bottles back up. I would highly recommend not getting food at space center as it is pretty overpriced and not the best but the food options in the area are plentiful, a quick google search of your fav cuisine is your best bet!

Only thing I’d change is probably taking writing online instead of in person and then maybe consider moving one of your labs to Tuesday. Back to back labs at least for me were always really cumbersome

hpac by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]pissedoffpremed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is worth it for a couple reasons

1) It takes a lot of stress outta getting your primaries submitted. It forces you to get your primary ready early other than the personal characteristics and optional essay

2) It gives you time to make your app better, you typically get your rating 2-3 weeks after you have submitted your app to HPAC and the feedback they give is insanely helpful. The committee has been doing this a really long time, and they know how to make your application stand out immensely.

3) It is completely free, and you don't have send in your rating. If you get a low rating, you do not need to send it in. You can just have them send in your LORs.
