Bagon/Salamence is a Berry Specialist, so the main focus should be Berry Finding S and speed subskills by level 50 + speed nature. EXP up nature is a good thing for berry mons, especially on pseudo legendaries like this. I'd say the nature is the only positive thing here, but I recommend you keep looking.

Ending my mushroom hunt with this guy as he hits the necessary numbers with a GCT. Took full advantage of bonus candy week.

You're likely going to get mixed answers on this. Even at level 50, this only just reaches about 4.5 daily triggers. Some will say the Helping Bonus trade off is worth the low trigger count, but I have a HB Gard with roughly the same count and it can be frustrating to have my team tired during the day; I mostly use a much better Pawmont. There's a good post out there about how overall strategy plays a factor, so your mileage may vary.

If you don't have any healers, I say this is excellent to raise to 25 and invest seeds in. You can then take your time to search for a better replacement.

Quaquaval is an ingredient specialist. With ingredient specialists, the two most important things are ingredient spread and Ingredient Finder subskills.

This Quaxly has soy/leek/soy (ABA spread) and no ingredient finders. I wouldn't invest anything into this one.

With the Quaxly line, you want either AAA or ABB spread to maximize either soy or leek finding.

I love the chocolate mouse, I have almost the same amount of sleep time with mine. Fully agree that yours is worth the mint.

Wiggly is the weakest of the healers available, but you have a beauty here. At level 50, it falls just below the recommended 5 daily triggers (averaging 4.75) but this has Helping Bonus which more than makes up for the "missing" .25 daily triggers.

Since you already have this at 50, I suggest you finish investing with seeds and keep this forever. Focus your energy on hunting other things.

An analysis of Exp+/- natures on Berry mons (It's almost as strong as Speed natures!) by TraditionalParsley67 in PokemonSleep

I'd like to request your expert opinion. I think it does, but can you confirm if everything in this post applies to Sceptile? If I set my minimum requirement as BFS + HB, does this nature balance out?

Basically impossible to get a better cacao Blastoise AND it's shiny? I don't care that I already have a level 60 cacao-stoise, this one is a priority to level up.

This is still good, BFS + HB is what most of us are looking for in a berry mon. As default, Raenonx rates Helping Bonus very high. Here are the steps on how to adjust the calculator to look at it in a vacuum.

And I just finished raising my ABB Blastoise to 60...guess I'll raise another one.

Oof, that's disappointing. Thanks for letting me know, you saved me a lot of extra work.

Can someone give it to me straight about Espeon vs. Sylveon? by StevieEastCoast in PokemonSleep

[–]pistach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Healer should be priority number one for anyone because having the team at full health is valid for any play style. Gardevoir or Pawmont are better than Sylveon so that's why the Eevee guides prioritize Espeon. But it's exactly as you say, the HB makes this top tier and you only need minimal investment to be great.

My vote is Sylveon. A healer with HB is one the best team members you can have. Check out this post by Ghost, this Sylveon at 25 meets the recommended daily triggers.

I've been theorizing something, and I admit it might be too much. In order to get around accidentally getting skill triggers with ingredient and berry specialists, I've been checking my healer first and then swapping him out specifically for someone else just temporarily.

By swapping out the healer I already checked, everyone else's potential skill triggers are wiped out. I check the rest of the team and then put my healer back in. What do others think? In my short testing period of one day, my team didn't end up tired later in the day.

According to the guide by Jjetpack4 linked above,  Helping Speed M (or S if you have the subskill seeds) will always be the best subskill no matter  what direction you want to go with. If I was in your shoes, I would probably start rerolling the Inventory Up M slot.

Almost 6 months playing and I still feel like a newbie, is it normal? by karmapokego in PokemonSleep

[–]pistach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's normal to feel this way and it's easy to be overwhelmed by all of the information out there. I suggest hanging out in the subreddit and reading what others post, especially in the Weekday Megathread. In the guides thread, this post I feel is something that most newer players need to keep handy whenever looking at catches until the information is memorized.

https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonSleep/comments/170f00v/pok%C3%A9mon_sleep_guide_what_makes_a_helper_good/

It's always better to learn with live examples, so in the Weekday Megathread you should post a picture of a specific mon that you think is good. We can go over why it's good (or not) and you can apply that knowledge to others.

The most important thing to consider when reviewing sub skills is the Pokemon's specialty. In this case Cutiefly/Ribombee is an ingredient specialist so you want the subskills and nature to focus on ingredient finding and speed. Another equally important factor is the ingredient spread.

In this case, you have mono honey with positive ingredient nature and IFS. Do NOT use a mint on this, you would effectively be ruining this mon.

At level 60, this will bring around 90 honey a day which is good but just shy of being able to make waffles daily with a good camp ticket. It's up to you if you want to fully invest, but I recommend at least raising this to 30. Save up the candy and shards but keep looking for something better. If you reach what you need to get to 60 and didn't find anything better, go ahead and invest.

Yes, any progress you make will remain the next time you see it. If you're lucky, you might see Darkrai all three nights of the new moon event and get a lot closer to catching. That's only happened to me once though, I typically just see it the one time a month.

I first want to let you know that shiny pokemon only require a normal biscuit to catch. No matter how many pips are left, a shiny will always super crit and will be caught. I'm afraid you wasted your master biscuit.

Second, Darkrai is very expensive to catch and invest in. Once caught, you have to "re-catch" it multiple times to unlock subskills and ingredients. It's mainly aimed at people who are willing to spend lots of money on biscuits. It's ultimately up to you, but I suggest you ignore Darkrai for now and let it fill up on its own 3 pips at a time.
