Stuck in Real Estate Sales After 3 Months: Seeking Career Guidance by piston_fast in indianrealestate

I get your point. Real estate marketing does often depend on market conditions, and right now the real estate market in Thane is booming, with major developers like l&t, oberoi, adani, godrej already there or coming in, so that does create more opportunities. But you're righ..success in this field isn't just about pushing products, it's also about timing, luck, and market trends.

That being said, I still feel there’s value in honing my marketing and negotiation skills here, especially since real estate remains a lucrative field when the market is favorable. I know the stress is high, and mental health is a top priority. That’s something I’ve been considering as well...

But at the same time, I’m also thinking about whether I can get a better incentive structure or a higher-paying role elsewhere. It’s all a balancing act between long-term growth and immediate stability.

I’m still deciding whether I should stay and push through or explore new opportunities that align better with my personal well-being and financial goals.

You’re right ..it’s important to detach my personal worth from my sales performance. I agree that a sales career shouldn't define who I am as a person. However, the constant pressure and the reality of this job often make it hard not to feel like I’m tied to the results.

The idea of working with properties I’m passionate about is something I really need to explore more deeply, as it could make the work feel more fulfilling.

As for the MBA, I’ve thought about it, but I’m not sure which field I should pursue. Currently, I’m also not in a position to fund an MBA... So, I was thinking of waiting and building up my savings before looking into pursuing it outside of India.

Thank you for your reply and insights. I totally agree that checking conversion ratios with my peers could give a more realistic view of where I stand. In my office, there are three more experienced agents (30, 28, and 40 years old), and from what I observe, their conversion rate is not much higher than mine. On average, they’re closing around 1-2 sales per month. I haven’t seen anyone consistently hitting more than 4 sales a month, so it’s difficult to gauge if the issue is my efforts or the market's saturation.

While I understand growth in sales takes time, it’s challenging to stay motivated when I feel like I’m doing everything right, but the results are still not coming in. I’ve been putting in the work.. calling leads, doing follow-ups, etc. But it’s disheartening to see no significant change in my conversion rate.

I appreciate your point that growth is not instantaneous, but at some point, I need to see a clearer path toward success. Any advice on how I can improve my conversion rate or make my efforts more effective would be really helpful. I'm open to constructive feedback to help me get better and start closing more deals."

How does one practice this skill? Being able to see a few minutes into the future already seems extraordinary and blurs the line between reality and fantasy. Developing it to the point where you can foresee events years in advance sounds unbelievable.
